Posted March 4, 200916 yr I don't know if this is the right forum or not because Sanborn's verrryyyyy retro but..I love jazz and I recently heard about this DVD, Live at Montreux, that has David Sanborn in it as well as rad guitarist Hiram Bullock. It shows them getting down in some cool free style jazz sets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUiwAGTDxvA...re=channel_page Thought I'd throw the info out there
March 4, 200916 yr I had a David Sanborn single back in the day, Let's Just Say Goodbye, which I bought on 12" in 1981. I can't remember how the record sounds now, not heard it for many, many years. There was a bit of a jazz funk thing going on in 1981 and I bought a few jazz funk type records for a while back then. The track in the above youtube clip (Hideaway) sounds familiar, but is from 1984 so I'm not sure if I would have heard it then or if it is one of those tunes that ITV (UK TV network) loved to use in the 1980s while listing upcoming programmes etc - they went through a spell in the early to mid 80s of doing this on London Weekend Television (LWT) - I remember Slide by the RAH Band being used for a while and I have a feeling this tune (Hideaway) may have been used too.
