because I am so limited on time, I will be downloading all of the videos as they are confirmed and I don't want 100 videos on my computer ...and nobody had any problems with Peter banning changes last month. It forces people to be certain that the song they are choosing is the right one for them! Of course, you can leave your confirmation until 10 seconds before the deadline if you are that indecisive :heehee:

odds threads can be opened whenever, I don't mind :w00t: shall we pit Espen against FNR Tinnmark :kink:

I had quite the problem with him doing it :smoke: And I don't think it does! It forces people into short-term certainty followed with regret sometimes - what I mean is allowing the possibility of a change but strongly discouraging it, so that people can feel fairly certain by the time they confirm but can't be restricted if something else comes up or if something suddenly happens that makes it an awful choice (such as it going to #2 for example :heehee:). I also think this will encourage far more confirmations leading up to the closing date rather than a big rush of them in the last couple of days...

And I do think it far better to leave odds threads until all the songs are confirmed. Tis a bit silly otherwise I reckon :(

And I LOVE Kish Mauve

What if it were to be a few weeks later than that and there was a spin-off in between?

You can't bind a host to a particular date...I couldn't do it, and Rich hasn't been able to host on a Sunday. It all depends on the individual.

Well, either spin-off-contest or contest-spin-off. Either way gets the schedule back on track, I'd just prefer it immensely if the contest didn't clash with the ESC seeing as this was originally only set up to keep interest in the forum/ESC in the off-season! :heehee:

And I realise that, which is why I said I would prefer :P

But you've said countless times how this contest has become a seperate entity, so why not have it at the same time as ESC? It's come on so far since last year, so why does everything need to grind to a halt to observe the "mother contest"?

Mainly because all of the BJSC mods are quite deeply involved, if not moderators of the ESC. It would be a bit odd to have the moderators withdraw from a contest just to devote their full attention to the ESC forum...I don't see why it's so hard to just avoid one week anyway? It's not even grinding to a halt as such, it's more arranging it so that the contest is convenient for all. Obviously if they can't make the time then spin-off then contest would be better, but I don't see why there's so much fuss to the degree where it seems like people are actively campaigning for them to run in the same week...and, if we do have someone who ends up only being able to do Saturdays, as Rich is, could you seriously imagine a scenario where the finals of both contests are pitted against each other being good for either forum?!

no changes :arrr: seeing as it's only open for two weeks, it's highly unlikely that a song is going to jump out of nowhere to go to No.2 :heehee: Love Story wasn't exactly an unexpected hit :P I think you'd be surprised at people's strength in song choice anyway...I don't recall everyone rushing to confirm in the last hour last month, when the same rule was in place. I think they will filter through steadily over the next two weeks ^_^

from my own point of view, I would not appreciate a live BJSC final on the same day as Eurovision...

having said that, I have no reason with these two things running parallel, as long as the main live results show is the only thing that doesn't clash

Oh My God...

what's the problem with Lady GaGa, people should be allowed to send songs that they love if they mean something special to them :P

Even me and my anti-cheap ways can see issues with that  I was preparing the possibility of sending some old school GaGa too that just leaked (before she was even GaGa :P)

I refuse to be drawn into this debate :kink:

It probably flop anyway, Lady GaGa has been used too many times now. No pointage from me -_-
I'm bored of LoveGame although the video is really hot
TYPICAL NEWBIE.

That's not very nice. I wouldn't like to have been welcomed that way. That's just like someone calling you a "typical bitch"

 I think she meant that he doesn't know what is considered as 'cheap' now because he's a newbie. Nothing comparable to 'bitch'

I know. I was just saying, I don't think before I say things.

Song: LoveGame

Artist: Lady GaGa

Country: New Rivermaya

I'll make a reserved link if this doesn't work anymore. ^_^

What happened to your belief that this was a bad choice?:mellow:

But yes, surely this is as much a reason as any to allow the possibility of changes...
