Flop of the week goes to GOLDIE LOOKIN CHAIN, ROLL DEEP, GASLIGHT ANTHEM, and ROYKSOPP. We did great last week with 38 in the 40, and 49 in the 50 on the singles front (even though we only had Islands In The Stream at 19)! In the combined albums we had 24 in the 30, and 36 in the 40. Back in March 1975, Radio Luxembourg came up with this: 01 01 BYE BYE BABY - BAY CITY ROLLERS 02 03 ONLY YOU CAN - FOX 03 05 WHAT AM I GONNA DO - BARRY WHITE 04 06 THERE`S A WHOLE LOT OF LOVING - GUYS AND DOLLS 05 04 PICK UP THE PIECES - AVERAGE WHITE BAND 06 16 FANCY PANTS - KENNY 07 02 IF - TELLY SAVALAS 08 12 GIRLS - MOMENTS AND WHATNAUTS 09 17 I CAN DO IT - RUBETTES 10 14 SWEET MUSIC - SHOWADDYWADDY 11 15 PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM - ELTON JOHN 12 23 PLAY ME LIKE YOU PLAY YOUR GUITAR - DUANE EDDY AND THE REBELETTES 13 09 SECRETS THAT YOU KEEP - MUD 14 08 MANDY - BARRY MANILOW 15 29 FOX ON THE RUN - THE SWEET 16 07 PLEASE TELL HIM THAT I SAID HELLO - DANA 17 13 DREAMER - SUPERTRAMP 18 11 COME UP AND SEE ME MAKE ME SMILE - COCKNEY REBEL 19 10 MY EYES ADORED YOU - FRANKI VALLI 20 20 HAVING A PARTY - OSMONDS FEATURING SIMON AND GARFUNKEL 21 22 YOUNG AMERICANS - DAVID BOWIE 22 26 REACH OUT I`LL BE THERE - GLORIA GAYNOR 23 28 FUNKY GIBBON/SICK MAN BLUES - GOODIES 24 NE SWING YOUR DADDY - JIM GILSTRAP 25 NE SKIING IN THE SNOW - WIGAN`S OVATION 26 30 WHAT IN THE WORLD`S COME OVER YOU - TAM WHITE 27 27 LET ME BE THE ONE - SHADOWS 28 NE THE UGLY DUCKLING - MIKE REID 29 NE L.O.V.E. - AL GREEN 30 NE LADY MARMALADE - LABELLE So, in 1975 Radio Luxembourg got 27 in the 30. The only major miss, was PETER SHELLEY and "Love Me Love My Dog". Although (of course), it was in on the next week. BAY CITY ROLLERS all over the shop, and at their peak. NOOSHA FOX and the gang including KENNY YOUNG. GUYS AND DOLLS featuring the twosome of DOLLAR and others, including JULIE FORSYTH...Bruce`s daughter. AVERAGE WHITE BAND...Scotland`s finest. KENNY had their 2nd hit following "The Bump". Their was a band called KENNY in 1973, but they came from Ireland...a different kettle of fish! KOJAK was in the chart via TELLY SAVALAS covering a BREAD song. MOMENTS AND WHATNAUTS struck...then lost their WHATNAUTS! The RUBETTES had almost dried up, but they still appeared on TOTP with their hats. SWEET MUSIC gave SHOWADDYWADDY...an over predicted Luxembourg toptenner. ELTON JOHN had the American number one, but didn`t make the top ten with "Philadelphia Freedom", in the UK. DUANE EDDY returned, and suddenly sounded like the theme to CROSSROADS...was that why Paul McCartney re-did the theme to said tv show? BARRY MANILOW scored a first. THE SWEET slightly changed direction, and just missed a number one. SUPERTRAMP also scored a first hit. FRANKI VALLI escaped the FOUR SEASONS. Big group THE OSMONDS teamed up with SIMON AND GARFUNKEL. DAVID BOWIE praised the Yanks! GLORIA GAYNOR did her usual...nicked someone elses song! THE GOODIES got a 2nd hit. Get well soon Bill. JIM GILSTRAP confused us, with his name! WIGAN`S OVATION covered a 60s northern soul piece. Wigan, the home to that Northern Soul sound. Ever been on Wigan pier?! TAM WHITE sung in similar vain. THE SHADOWS could not win the Eurovision Song Contest...they were beat by the Netherlands offering by TEACH-IN. During the Song For Europe on the BBC, in February 1975...the SHADOWS performed six songs, "Let Me Be The One" was the chosen song, but they also performed "Don`t Throw It All Away"....this became a hit, 6 months later for GARY BENSON. MIKE REID was "Terr-if-ic", and took the old Danny Kaye song "The Ugly Duckling", into the top ten. The right Reverand AL GREEN scored another top 30 hit, as LABELLE got a first, and also first version of "LADY MARMALADE" into the top 20.

March 16, 200916 yr Oh, if Flo Rida does make it back to the top of the pile he'll only be the second act ever to do it in his third week on the chart following All Saint's Under The Bridge which moved 1-2-1- in 1998!
