The Basildon boys were once New Romantic also rans who became the quintessential electro-pop band of the early 1990s after developing a more darker, dramatic sound whom release their next album in April.

Are you fans of the band fronted by Dave Gahan & featuring the songwriting talents of Martin Gore or not?

They remain Britain's most interesting and exciting band IMO - the new one, Wrong, continues their trend of classic singles.

They've rarely put a foot wrong and have had so many career highpoints it's impossible to pick out just a few. if they'd appeared with Music for the Masses and hadn't been around before they'd be Britain's biggest band, I think - but their electropop roots won't ever be forgiven in their homeland unfortunately.

Always quite liked them, but not enough to actually buy any of their music  From their early stuff like...New life, See you & everything counts up to Enjoy the silence, they certainly have a good back catelogue of music. They certainly deserve a mention as one of the best acts from the 80's.

never appealed to me, liked 'new life' but the following singles just put me off, they became somewhat underground later in the 80's and so i didnt listen to them.

i accept they are a great band, but just not my cuppa.

Well, it wont be forgotten by the music press that's for sure.... Their gigs in UK tend to sell out in a matter of hours.... Cant say I'm a huge fan of any DM stuff before "Construction Time Again" tbh.... "Some Great Reward", "Black Celebration", "Violator", "Songs of Faith and Devotion", "Ultra" and "Playing the Angel" are bloody great albums.....

Fellow Essex lads The Prodigy have done a similar reinvention over the years, they started out as "smiley-face" ravers, but certainly went a LOT darker putting more "rock" elements into their music from "Music for the Jilted Generation" onwards.... The Prodigy, however, never seemed to have the problems from the music press that DM did..... Double standards....?

I can take them or leave them, nothing of their's particular grabs me but none of it offends me either...
