I think it matters more what songs are performed before and after your song than what place you are performing. Performing upbeat dance track tenth between a bunch of ballads will be way better than performing a ballad 22nd place between several other ballads. In the semifinals it really doesn't matter even if you perform first as long as your song is decent. In the final I'd say all other slots are ok except the first five or so (by the fifth song or so I would assume the late-arriving viewers all are watching the show).

 

And for you all expecting UK to win/do well, are you being really serious or is it sarcasm that I'm not just getting? I mean I've heard less than half of the entries so far but from the 15-20 entries I have heard the UK one is one of the weakest. A very bland ballad with no catchy chorus or anything so why expect anything other than in the past five years or so? I mean the juries just might give some extra points for the song and help UK finish inside top 20 but I seriously cannot see the Eastern European voters nor even most of the Western European voters voting for the song. I mean in order to succeed you need a good song even if you are performing 23rd because by the time the this year the 24th song is half-way through pretty much no-one will remember the UK entry. Thou, of course, the version in the final might be well better than the version that got chosen.

It's a great result for the UK, and I'm really optimistic about a top ten finish now. :D I reckon Spain could even push for top five too with such a good draw. Terrible for Ireland and I can't see them getting top nine, and I don't necessarily think France being rawn near the start is that bad for them... think they could go top ten too tbh.

Sincerly I dont know what spanish song have so special,for me is just like a disco song <_< ,like hundreds we listen in ESC.
