I caught the first play of the song at 7:30 on Radio 1. I wasn't too sure at first, but it really grew on me as the track went on. It has a good sound, some of their classic witty lyrics and Brian's voice is as gorgeous as ever.

I'm gonna go and download the song. :D So pleased to have them back. :cheer:

I still can't believe they're back. I downloaded Battle For The Sun!

FINALLY.

it's quite good aswell.

:o

Placebo have unveiled details of their new album ‘Battle For The Sun’.

At an exclusive secret gig held last night in London, Brian Molko and co played a number of new songs from the album including the tracks ‘Ashtray Heart’, ‘Julian’, ‘Kitty Litter’, and ‘Devil’s In The Details’. They also covered Nik Kershaw’s 84 hit ‘Wouldn’t It Be Good’.

Frontman Brian Molko told Rock Sound: “We’re very excited about the new album, and my favourite track is ‘Speaking In Tongues’, but don’t let that influence you!”

Rock Sound reckons the new album is a heavier-sounding record compared to its predecessor ‘Meds’ and is a return to the earlier sounds from ‘Without You I’m Nothing’. There are also string arrangements present on the new tracks that give it a more experimental and epic direction.

Expect a release on June 8 and fans can get the title track as a Free download from the band's official site by clicking the link below.

I actually didn't know there are more people on BJ who like Placebo, except Aly, and, well, me...

Great signature, btw.

I think it's probably only you, Aly, Chris and I though to be honest! :heehee:

Thanks about the signature - I'm waiting for some new promo photos to be released, so I can make one using them!

I see that.

But, better four people, then two.

Rest of BJ don't know how amazing Placebo music is. -_-

I'll have to get you to make me one too in that case, Cremey!

I'll give it a go (when they release some new photos) but I'll warn you now that it might not be very good at all!

I can do fairly simple things on photoshop, but I'm not very good with full blends :(

Absolutely love 'Battle for the Sun', it's such a grower and I love the way it slowly builds and builds.

Placebo have revealed the tracklisting of new album 'Battle For The Sun' to NME.COM.

As previously reported, the band are releasing their sixth album independently on June 8.

Now, frontman Brian Molko has explained the thinking behind the collection, as well as the tracklisting.

Molko said: "I believe 'Battle' to be the first of our albums to tell a story over the course of its 52 minutes. Our previous releases were really only collections of songs and even though the songs are ordered according to the musical flow, I hope that if you listen hard enough to the words that some kind of discernible thematic unity will begin to emerge."

The tracklisting is:

'Kitty Litter'

'Ashtray Heart'

'Battle For The Sun'

'For What It’s Worth'

'Devil In The Details'

'Bright Lights'

'Speak In Tongues'

'The Never-Ending Why'

'Julien'

'Happy You're Gone'

'Breathe Underwater'

'Come Undone'

'Kings Of Medicine'

:o EXCITING STUFF!

Srsly can't wait for this album, definitely the most anticipated one for me this year

OMG, great information! :w00t:

Awww, song named Come Undone, same as Robbie's.

I'm looking forward to this new album as its been a long time since we got new material, i hope the album does well for them as the music climate has changed quite a bit since they released their last album and proper singles.
