The last album went 7-35, but I think that was an incredibly busy week when it dropped that much. They chose a bad week to release, the world and his dog released an album this week. I'm sure they could have got top 5 any other week.

It sold 16,253 in its first week, compared with Meds' 28k-ish. I was expecting a bit more.

GAWD, Placebo used to sell loads of albums.... What's happened....? :o

 

What's the European sales like, Placebo usually do pretty well in the likes France, Germany, etc....

 

 

I'm not sure about sales, but it reached #1 on the German album chart, #2 in Belgium, #5 in Holland and #9 in Sweden! :o

#8 in Australia too, not bad.

#1 in France too, ahead of the BEP (#2)!

It's their 4th #1 album in France, and all of them in the 2000s :)

#51 in the US. :D

who cares about chart places, its a good album, it doesnt matter where it charts, it's not about how many sales an album has to make it good, it's the actual music.

I know, I just like to follow how it's doing everywhere.

I 100% agree with you. I really don't follow all those charts about new album. Well, it's nice to see it's doing well, but that's not that important to me.

 

Only thing I follow is number of week plays on Last.fm for Placebo, and I know they're are most played artist this week with 1,216,919 plays, even they are on 11th place, because they have less listeners then others, 72,495 listeners.

 

The album has made a number 22 debut in ireland this week

It fell from 8-41 this week :( Scummy public. Mind you Little Boots fell from 5-40 and that's a bit worse. :P

 

As a side note, this album continues to grow on me more with every listen thankfully. :D

i knew the album would drop but i had hoped it would stay top 25 or top 30 at lowest i neve rexpected this 8- 41 drop at all, little boots shocked me aswell, the album really is growing on me but i haven't yet had enough time to give it a dedicated listen but i have it on now.

im having my first listen of this for months, I'm really recognising it as a great album now, becoming one of my favourites by them.

This album is finally starting to properly grow on me, I knew they couldn't let me down really. :D

 

I still think it's miles below anything else they've done, but I'm starting to appreciate this for sure. Same happened with Meds months after it was released.
