Posted March 21, 200916 yr FlyteTyme AKA Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are producing tracks for the new album. According to BK Massive that is. They've produced some stuff for the likes of Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Mary J Blige, Mariah, Usher & Prince but have never worked with Bev before. Everyone over there seems very exited about it
March 21, 200916 yr Saw this in the same place as you earlier, it does sound exciting! :o I'm guessing her performing with Prince on tour helped with her contacts, no doubt he told them about her. They've worked on some great songs: "All For You", "Doesn't Really Matter" (Janet Jackson), "If You Wanna Have Some Fun", "Oxygen" (Spice Girls), "No More Drama" (Mary J Blige) and "Through The Rain" (Mariah Carey). I can't wait to hear what they do with Bev, surely this isn't STILL a funky album?
March 21, 200916 yr Author Who knows, perhaps she's experimenting and the album will be of several different genres.
March 22, 200916 yr Not sure how that would do, you need a bit of consistency. I think this sort of thing is something Bev should have done a while ago, by the looks of it they're Janet Jackson's favourite producers. Their Wikipedia page has LOADS of her songs that they've worked on.
March 22, 200916 yr Author Janet's back cataloge is still a bit vague for me so really im just assuming that they're rather Urban producers?
March 23, 200916 yr Janet's back cataloge is still a bit vague for me so really im just assuming that they're rather Urban producers? Hmm...they're a bit R&B/Pop I would say. I just realised they also did "Together Again" and "Black Cat" by Janet Jackson, which are two of my faves by her. But seriously, they seems to have produced most of her 80s/90s stuff. Someone on the Bev forum actually brought that up, they haven't really done much of note since the 90s, I can't really see anything that's been a big hit recently. Oooh I'd love some Mary J style songs. Me too, but it'll more likely be 80s/90s Janet sounding. I count less than 10 Mary songs in their catalogue and over 90 Janet songs, no exaggeration.
March 23, 200916 yr Actually, I think I got it wrong. It looks like the only time they haven't worked with her is on "Discipline", maybe they got a bit dated for her?
March 24, 200916 yr Well I don't exactly follow Janet Jackson's career. She has likeee 10 songs I really like, tops. "Feedback" is one of them. Her last album was a disappointment, don't have any others.
March 25, 200916 yr I don't think I've heard her 2004 stuff. Basically her only amazing songs are "Together Again", "All For You", "The Best Things In Life Are Free", "Black Cat" and "Feedback" maybe "Doesn't Really Matter" too. The weird thing is, none of them are exactly similar so it's weird that those are the specific ones I like.
March 25, 200916 yr Author LOL, only heard a handfull of her songs tbh. Her 2004 stuff was All Nite and Just A Little Bit(?)
March 26, 200916 yr Me too actually, I once downloaded her old greatest hits, but it was the wrong version as all the songs werelik 6 minutes long. :drama: I just feel that she's probably more of a singles act, based on the one rubbish studio album of hers that I've heard. Ahh, not really familiar of those, but if that was still in her phase of sex songs I can only imagine how bad they were. :puke2:
March 28, 200916 yr Author LOL, yes i think it was during that period. The videos were rather wtf aswell.
March 28, 200916 yr Those are so cringy to listen to, "Discipline" has a few too. Every diva has to go through a loony patch though. Mariah did as well.
April 2, 200916 yr LOL I thought it ended when she released 'The Emancipation...', she does seem quite obsessed with posting lyrics from her songs and making people guess on her Twitter though, maybe she's still a bit mad. (or self-obsessed)
