Thing is though, what these guys forget is that, firstly, there are such things as "functional heroin addicts" who hold down lives, careers, families, etc (granted these are rare individuals and they tend to have money as well) and secondly, there is no way that Kurt would've been shooting up the street-level, cut-to-hell with fukkin' vim, baking soda and christ knows what else, cr@p like most junkies, he had money, he could certainly afford "better", purer gear being a millionaire rock star.....

Asking 11 addicts isn't exactly what I would call a big sample..... You would probably need to talk to at least 40 to 50 and from all different walks of life to get a far more representative picture......

The other thing to add to this is different people have very different tolerances, what could put one person on their arse will barely make an impact on another.

Having spent years working with heroin users I would not be surprised in the least that they would be able to pick up and gun and shoot themselves - it wouldn't be the first time someone has done it.

Well, yeah, either that or it was my mate passed it to me and I passed it on to Kurt (my memory gets a little fuzzy here  GOD, it's true, Cannabis does affect the memory, DONT DO IT KIDS.....  )... I mean, this was shortly before Nirvana went supernova, Kurt wasn't a big rock star; my mates' band (Captain America, who later became Eugenius) was supporting them, he was just a really nice, normal guy, approachable, friendly, had a very wide knowledge of music, especially Punk and old metal stuff.... Mind you, he never really had that whole "rock star" mentality even when Nirvana were at their peak.....

WOW :o

With Kurt Cobain, I don't have a clue what to think, and tbh I'm not really fussed. Suicide or not (I do however think it's highly unlikely for him to take his own life whilst being high at the time...) but there's no denying that Courtney played a big influence on him. The twat.

I think thus speaks the voice of experience.....

I presume in you line of work you would've had considerably more contact with heroin users than the author of this book.....

Grimly, Am I the only one who is nearly as impressed that you knew someone from Captain America!

Anyway, this was suicide plain and simple. Just like Jim Morrison died in a bath tub in Paris and Elvis died on a toilet somewhere in 1977.

Why are we still discussing this? It was Courtney..duh.

Oh, please.....

Look, take it from someone who was part of that actual generation, who was a fan, who read all the ridiculous conspiracy theories, who sat through Nick Broomfield's totally misguided and naive documentary....

IT WAS SUICIDE.........

Kurt Cobain died on April 5th 1994, it is said that he commited suicide but there has been theories that he was killed by his wife, Courtney Love, but it is said in general that he was murdered, apparently he shot himself in the head, but according to research the amount of heroin in his body when he was found, it would have been impossible for him to other actually pick up a gun and shot himself, as well as neatly putting away his heroin equipment (like how it was found).

So who do you think killed Kurt Cobain? What do you believe? Was it a suicide? Was it a murder?

Yeah I agree...We'll probably never know what really happened :/

Come on guys, its pretty obv. that it was suicide. Kurt wasnt a very happy person.

A real shame, because he made fantastic music that means a lot to many people from my generation.

To me, there's no way it could have been suicide.

He was so out of it he wouldn't have had the power to pick up the gun and kill himself.

I'm not saying Courtney definitely fired the gun but she had a major influence on what happened that day.

However, similarly to the whole Sid and Nancy thing, it will never come out as to what exactly happened.

Kurt Cobain, strung out on heroin, killed Kurt Cobain.....if the gun didn't do the deed, drugs surely did....

Oh, please, SHUT UP!!!!!!!! I dont want to be nasty or anything, but come on, how old are you..? 14..? 15....? I was THERE as all this was happening and it hit the news, as a fan of Nirvana, just looking for answers to make sense of it all, I read the books, read all the conspiracy theories, watched the Nick Broomfield documentary, but no matter how much I actually wanted to believe it was murder, the facts just dont support the hypothesis, in much the same way that fact does not support the car crash of Princess Di was anything other than a car crash, or the moon landings were faked (unless you believe those "theories" as well...)...

Conspiracy Theories are a bit like arseholes - they're generally full of sh!t.....

It was not a suicide, it was definitely a murder. Case unclosed.

And you base that on, what, exactly....? If it was murder, dont you actually think that the cops and the team of forensic scientists investigating the alleged "crime" would have found that out.....? Oh, I suppose you think that they would actually cover it up then, huh....? Yeah, cos of course there would be an actual reason for the state to cover up the murder of a rock star wouldn't there....? Mate, sorry, Kurt Cobain was not JFK or Martin Luther King, know what I mean......?

I'd like to know this....what's the flippin point of continuing this arguement, since, the yahoos who keep on insisting Kurt was murdered will never, ever, bother to look at all the facts from the case? To me, this is a moot point, Kurt's dead, killed himself, case closed.....

Addendum: I never really was a fan of Nirvana, but, liked some of their stuff.....and, I do think they did usher in the 'grunge rock' era of the early 1990's.....why can't we just let the spirit of Kurt Cobain reat in peace, instead of constantly bickering the reason he died???

Spot on.... You're unfortunately correct in your assessment, the "yahoos" certainly dont appear to be looking at the facts really.... It's a bit like Al Fayed and his insistance that the car crash that killed Princess Di and his son Dodi was murder made to look like an accident... But, hey, Dodi was his SON, so, you can perhaps understand him clutching at straws with it being his flesh and blood and all....

Oh for crying out loud, it was painfully obvious to anyone with half a braincell who was around at the time that this was suicide. As Kurts actions, and words made it apparent for nearly 2 to 3 years in advance that his life was only going to end one way.

The only people who think otherwise are dillusional internet nerds who think the American Government were directly responsible for 9/11 and that man has never been on the moon and that the Royal Family/MI5 murdered Princess Diana; or ambulance chasing vultures who can see $ signs for writing & putting some conspiracy theory nonsense together for people who want to clutch at straws.

No doubt as I type they are putting together some conspiracy that Jade Goody is not dead and is alive and kicking with the profits made from selling her dying of cancer story to the media.

Funny you should say that... Private Eye did a funny "fake Jade" news-story, "Al Fayed says Princess Jade Killed by Duke of Edinburgh" in the last issue....

As for 9/11, I treat that with the same cynicism as Pearl Harbour - elements in the Govt knew a Terrorist attack was going to take place (just like they knew the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbour...) and just let it happen in order to justify a new campaign against Iraq.... No direct involvement, no, but certainly somebody high up knew something, probably Cheney or Rumsfeld (Daddy Bush's mates and two of the architects of Neo-Conservatism/New World Order..), Dubya wouldn't have been trusted to keep his gob shut, so he was kept in the dark....

I'm going to agree with Scott here. :o :o It was suicide. I've read a couple of books and am sure of that. The cops aren't stupid you know.

I do think Diana was definitely murdered though. White Fiat? No way was her death an accident but hey that's a whole new thread.

I'm 17, and although i don't remember it actually happening, i've read all the newspaper cuttings, read the books, watched the documentaries etc, and i still believe it was murder.

But why....? I simply dont see the evidence to support it, and I dont believe for a moment that the cops would be involved in some elaborate conspiracy with Courtney Love, if they'd had reason to suspect that useless junkie ho' they'd've locked her ass up LONG ago.... I just think a lot of people are just too sentimental and emotional about this and just not looking clearly at the facts... It's really as silly as all these deluded Elvis fans who believe he's still alive....
