I have now heard a lot of Sharon Corr's new solo stuff and I think it is brilliant! A revelation! Her INAD went straight on to the Radio Two playlist and is all over Irish radio as well as Uk. Remember U2 went on to the B list. INAD is the second biggest jumper on airplay from #300 odd to #41 AFTER ONE WEEK. I read a lot of you doubters here on this forum but remember, she WROTE some of The Corrs biggest hits...So Young, Radio, a lot of the trad stuff. Her Rebel Heart track was nominated for a Grammy and they have sold over 35 MILLION albums! Her solo album will be THE talking point of 2010. She is really expressing herself fully as an artist, for the first time and her version of Small Twon is simply superb! Let's watch what she does next....

Well the track hit ITunes this week, and is frankly NOT going to be the talking point of 2009. It probably doesn't help that it's pretty impossible to preview the radio edit anywhere except the 30 second excerpts on Itunes.

 

Better news though; Her official site features a 60 second clip of a cover of "Smalltown Boy" which is to feature on the album. It lacks the campy sparkle of the original, but taken as a stand-alone track it sounds gorgeous.

I wud love to see The Corrs back together again n rele do hope they will oneday..Sharon's new single deffinately sounds Corr -ish..I hope she does well

I really can't imagine that they'd have Sharon do that, she doesn't sell singles, it just wouldn't work.

 

Unless it's going to be a collective effort a la Perfect Day which Sharon has been invited to take part in?
