Posted June 19, 200619 yr posted on devoted that the the puppini sisters are his support act Marcella Puppini formed the trio, "The Puppini Sisters" in September 2004 with Stephanie O'Brien and Kate Mullins on a lark – what would happen if you updated the Andrews Sisters? With their camp, dark versions of classics like The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, The Heebie Jeebies and Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights , the gigs started rolling in. The Sisters all have had success performing as solo artists with more traditional jazz ensembles, but let their hair down – or sometimes twist it up into kiss curls – when performing their stylised and choreographed tribute to the swing time close harmony trios of the 1930s and 40s. Marcella is the husky brunette who loves red lipstick and high heels and worships the old school Hollywood divas. Kate is the feisty blonde with a penchant for black eye make-up and beer gardens, and Steph is the cheeky redhead who loves pouting and camp glamour. Together they are the Puppini Sisters, and their somewhat brazen renditions of swing tunes and Pop classics make them an irresistible show with a constantly expanding repertoire. To date, they've performed at such venues as the National Theatre Foyer, Pizza on the Park, The Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer, Duckie, The Spice Of Life, Ray's Jazz café, Café de Paris, Pop and the Atlantic Bar – as well as many functions and events, private and public. The Sisters and their fabulous swinging band (Martin Kolarides on guitar, Nick Pini on double bass and Henry Tyler on drums) are all graduates or students of Trinity College of Music, where they all met whilst studying Jazz Performance, Arrangement and Composition. i will have to think about this :P Edited June 27, 200619 yr by BanYellowm+m's

June 19, 200619 yr Oh dear <_< Do you know I think Will is building quite a reputation for "ahem" unusual support acts  May as well give them a go I guess, at least once!

June 19, 200619 yr I love the swing era - I think I'll enjoy them. They may do more jazz though. Have to wait and see. Edited June 19, 200619 yr by munchkin
June 20, 200619 yr They seem to be all over the place this year, they're doing a lot of festivals as well, I think I might actually watch a Will support act for the first time, let's face it anything beats the saw lady and I think this act will blend in nicely with the inspiration of Will's arena tour. Which was all about re- creating the big old movies and Busby Berkeley wasn't it? ;) Edited June 20, 200619 yr by suggy
June 20, 200619 yr I saw them on the television quite recently, singing Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. Not bad compared to the saw lady and the other pair at the theatre tour.

June 27, 200619 yr Thanks for the links BYM+M's. Have to make the tea now but will have a little listen later. With 2 support acts I hope there's plenty of time for the main man. Been to Newcastle today. Got a bit excited when I saw Will's name advertised outside the Arena. :yahoo:
June 27, 200619 yr I'm liking Little Wonder a lot as well and Shelly is related to Karen. :D Shelly Poole- Ex Alisha's Attic sister, songwriter, Ivor Novello award nominee, this woman has the very essence of music running through her veins!
June 27, 200619 yr Been to Newcastle today. Got a bit excited when I saw Will's name advertised outside the Arena. :yahoo: But the Arena's right down by the river, on it's own, and up a big flight of steps! I know - there's a little shop you went to "just round the corner" - and you just happened to walk past the front of the Arena. Or of course you could have been booking for something else! Must admit it's nice to see Will's name outside any theatre or arena. :D Even better when it's sold out! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a379/dafyd/100_0465.jpg Edited June 27, 200619 yr by chrysalis
