This talented 1970s Pop/Rock singer heart-throb and entertainer was just as successful on record as he was in musicals.

Where any of you fans of David Essex during his 1970s heyday or did you prefer his arch rival Leo Sayer and wish he stuck to acting & musicals?

Never really liked him much, wouldn't say I particularly preferred Leo Sayer. I suppose Rock on was an OK song.
peaking in a time that i didnt rate much, he did some pretty good pop songs... lamplight, and hold me close in particular were good pop.
