July 12, 200916 yr Author Jane's Addiction were booed at T In The Park tonight (July 11), because they only played a seven-song set. Singer Perry Farrell and co were 40 minutes late coming onto the NME/Radio 1 Stage, after being held up by The Ting Tings overrunning before them, forcing the US band to cut short their set. After playing final song 'Ted, Just Admit It', the band left the stage without addressing the crowd. Many in the audience expected them to come back onstage for an encore, though when it became clear that this wouldn’t happen, they started booing. Earlier in their set, Farrell had chastised a member of the crowd who stuck his fingers up to the singer after he quipped: "See how good we are on five shots of vodka?" Pointing to the crowd member making the V-sign, Farell said: "Why don't you stick one [finger] up your girlfriend’s c**t and stick one up your own ass? Basic mathematics. Anyway, let's f***ing rock this bitch." Though it was unclear whether the singer was being malicious or not, some members of the audience responded to the putdown by shouting abuse at him. Farrell also encouraged T In The Park fans to sneak into next year’s event, because ticket prices are too high. "Did any of you sneak in? I checked it out, it's easy," he asked the assembled crowd after playing 'Three Days'. "Very expensive ticket. If it was me I'd steal it," he added, with a shrug of his shoulders. The band then played a rousing rendition of their anthem 'Been Caught Stealing'. "Come on you drunken f***ers! You ready to stay up for three days?" Farrell teased the crowd after playing the track. Wearing a two-piece purple suit with no shirt but a furry tail, at one point Farrell climbed onto a perch in the middle of the stage to show the audience his shoes, which were painted silver. Guitarist Dave Navarro played much of the set with a lit cigarette in his mouth, while Farrell danced around him. Jane's Addiction played: 'Whores' 'Ain’t No Right' 'Three Days' 'Mountain Song' 'Been Caught Stealing' 'Ocean Size' 'Ted, Just Admit It' -NME.com ting tings are c**ts. you can watch a very small bit from Janes here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/tinthepark/2009/artist/janes_addiction/
July 12, 200916 yr Author Nine Inch Nails played what they have suggested will be their their last ever UK festival show with a headline appearance on the NME / Radio Stage tonight (July 11) at T In The Park. Frontman Trent Reznor announced at the end of last year that the band would wrap up touring for good this year, with tonight's show the last UK festival date scheduled for the band before they supposedly wrap up live action. The metal legends tore through cuts from their extensive back-catalogue in front of a small but highly loyal and energetic crowd. One fan, decked in the Canadian flag, fisted the air in appreciation when Reznor announced that the band would be playing 'I'm Scared Of Americans' – a track co-written by David Bowie. The die-hard fans who turned out were moshing throughout the band's performance and during 'The Hand That Feeds' a particularly large mosh-pit formed in the middle of the crowd. Nine Inch Nails show ended with a tender crowd sing-along to a tearful 'Hurt', with the usually-outspoken frontman refraining from chat throughout the set. Nine Inch Nails played: 'Somewhat Damaged' Terrible Life March of The Pigs Piggy I'm Afraid Of Americans Burn Closer Survivalism The Hand That Feeds Head Like A Hole Hurt i dont know if Trent suggested that it was their last uk date last night, or if nme just think it is, because the are playing Sonisphere lol. oh and 'Im SCARED of Americans' lolz.

Perry's always been a bitchy little c/unt, so I'm not surprised he was baiting the crowd a bit.... I remember when him and Dave Navarro had a punch up onstage.....  Anyway, did you get one of them random emails off the 02 mate...? Apparently somewhere in the 02 there's a free pre-show Rock/Metal club called Afterburner going on, starting about 5pm or summat, playing Rock and Metal classics allegedly with some DJs from Metal Hammer.... Good opportunity to grab a pint..... :)

It's the middle of July mate, I doubt you'll need a coat... I think this week's gonna be a warm one, even in the evening... I would just bring a long-sleeved shirt tbh, put it in your bag or tie it round your waist.... Here's a suggestion - bring a spare T-shirt as well, if you're down the front you'll prob get water poured on you at some point, or beer.....

July 14, 200916 yr Author Just because Trent Reznor announced Nine Inch Nails’ last ever U.S. tour dates last week doesn’t mean he’s parting ways with his two-decades-old musical alter ego. In fact, as Trent tells the Philippines’ Daily Inquirer (via TwentyFourBit), he is giving up touring so he can focus more on Nine Inch Nails, other collaborations — like his recent Jane’s Addiction production role — plus work on some non-musical projects (and maybe an Exotic Birds reunion?). “What I specifically said or meant to convey is that NIN as a touring live band or live band that’s on the road all the time is stopping. I’ve just reached the point … where it has invaded every other aspect of my life,” Reznor said. “I have a number of projects that are not music-related which I have put on the back burner for a long time.” Reznor adds that because of the way the record industry is built, “the only way to get a paycheck is to play live,” though Reznor previously proved he could be successful without a major label or tour when his Ghosts I-IV made about $1.6 million during its unconventional release in March 2008. Another reason why Reznor is ditching the live circuit? He doesn’t want to wind up like another decade-spanning rock act. “I’d never want to be Gene Simmons, an old man who puts on makeup to entertain kids, like a clown going to work,” Reznor said of the Kiss bassist and the self-proclaimed God of Thunder. “In my paranoia, I fear that if I don’t stop this, it could become that.” Like the live incarnation of Nine Inch Nails, Reznor also sees the end of the road for the record companies in general. “They’re in their last moments of death and I’m happy to see them go ’cause they’re all thieves and liars,” Reznor told the Daily Inquirer. “In the States, there aren’t any record stores left. The only place is like a Best Buy where you go to buy a washing machine and there’s a tiny rack of DVDs and CDs. I think we’re in between business models right now.”
July 14, 200916 yr awesome sig you have there. Cheers buddy, yours aint too bad either.... You trying to outdo me are you....? ;)

I kind of knew it was mainly referring to tours, the '89-09 thing still works out as a 20th Anniversary logo  .. I'd certainly like to think that at some point we may have some new NIN music to look forward to... It's cool that he's got other projects to go onto though, he's a multi-talented guy is Trent.. Truer words were never spoken than the ones in bold.... I'd like to see all artists put their material out on the net tbh, record companies are just soul-sucking, vampiric b'astards who feed off the creativity of the talented and leave them empty, lifeless husks....
