June 21, 200619 yr Author I have been thinking about it allot more and I really dissagree! I really think dannii is justified to still be releasing music and it isn't just because she is a Minogue she's still with us. Yes she is not an album artist. But with the exceptional of Eternal where she got dropped, her labels have been happy with her. And yes dan I know SUPs sale figres are terrible but she has had some big single sales. Her first album spwaned a couple of top 10's and top 20's. Love & kisses was the 48th best selling single of the year. Even after her second album bombed she still recorded a 3rd album with the label. It wasn't released because they were not going to give it a full release (only certain countries) so basically I presume she had the choice of releasing it either in oz or the UK and she refused to just release it in one country so she left them. London were happy with her sales. But they went bankrupt so she had to move to AATW. Don't you see? She is like a low budget horror movie in a sense. The budget is so low that even mild success is enough to justify the film. She never has major record deals. Just enough to get by. and AATW seem over the moon with the new albums position. She deserves to be here and further more, aren't you happy she is? Think about it. We all undermime her successes. I meen acording to IMDB 2 of dannii's hits have even sold more than a couple of kylie's number 1's. I am NOT a dillusional fan, but she does deserve more credit and thats not just in personal oppinion, its in black and white. Her mild achievments are to overlooked. Edited June 21, 200619 yr by Ozx
June 21, 200619 yr IBTW sold about the same as Kylie's #1 lead single from 'Body Language' didn't it? I know 'All I Wanna Do Sold' about 200k of singles, but it's a shame the album that came from sold a measly 15k. :(
June 21, 200619 yr Author To be honest I couldn't tell you. Im just going by things I have read that seem like pretty reliable sources. IMDB'S dannii page. lol. I am not trying to say she's a superstar I just think its easier to forget when she has done something impressive but we quickly point out when she has a failure.

Not mentioning the two albums that didnt make the top 40. U know i love her but she is only still around becuase of her name. U dont agree and thats fine. Even after Get Into You that charted out of the top 50 the label she was with STILL recorded a 3rd album with her. Would they have if they were not happy with her? You would love to think that everything has to do with Kylie but dannii is here because on a much smaller scale, she is justified. Kylie pleases people by the millions, dannii by the hundreds of thousands. She would not get millions invested in her each time on the fact that she's kylie's little sister. you are so wrong my friend. She gets invested in because she can at times sell. L&K was one of the biggest songs that year in the UK. The album pushed around 250 000 I am led to believe They could have dropped her but they didn't. But hey, why not loose money just because she is kylie's sister. stop calling me a typical dannii fan
June 21, 200619 yr MCA dropped Dannii after GIY bombed. She recorded a third album on Mushroom UK but it never saw a release as she was let go from this label too in 1995 as they couldn't afford to keep her on. Ironically, Mushroom later scored big with Garbage and Peter Andre.

Dont get me wrong she has gota fan base but its not big enough and she needs to crossover to a bigger audience which she had for a while with the neon light stuff.
June 21, 200619 yr Author well Im actually a bit confused now. Wikipedia say Mushroom for L&K and 7GIY and Mushroom International for the 3rd unreleased album. But the bottom line that I keep trying to get across anyway is that she gets given chances because she CAN at times deliver the goods. Its hit and miss but she can do it. She wouldn't be on a 5th album on the fact she is a Minogue. I refuse to believe that. I am not dillusional, I just don't think record companies would sign dannii for the 3rd or 4th time now just because she's kylie's sister. Maybe at first but not now.
