June 21, 200619 yr Yeah singles do ok but her albums do terrible. She should stick to the singles. But even before the neon lights era. She only had a handful of hits.
June 21, 200619 yr Author the way i see it is, she never gets allot invested in her anyway. she doesn't have major deals. So there is never much to loose. I think its so simple...she makes and sells enough to get by. The labels have low expectations so her mild successes are justified. I am not deniing 2 of her albums bombed, but 2 of her albums were hits. So it's 50/50 isn't it. She is a risk but never a big one. And plus she has made money, she is a millionare somehow. She's here for reasons other than being Kylie's sister basically

June 21, 200619 yr you mention dannii has been with small record labels,,,,well can you honestly say that if any of the bigger record labels thought dannii had the potential to be a huge star they wouldnt have chased her and signed her up for a big record deal????
June 21, 200619 yr the way i see it dannii is with the smaller labels as none of the bigger ones will sign her up,,,,yes she has medium kinda success but for evry hit she has had she has a flop to match it and thats in her strongest field which is the singles market,,, her albums flop in general and although neon nights and love and kisses made top 10 they hardly sold alot more than kylie;;s impossible princess which was branded a flop,,,, yes she has had a few good hits but she has some terrible ones aswell,,,, she is very lucky to be around and some acts that have had more success than dannii have got dropped a hell of alot quicker
June 22, 200619 yr also dannii has never had a proper tour,,for someone in the business for so long and yet not do a proper tour says alot also as she doesnt have that star pwoer to pull in a crowd for a tour to sell dont get me wrong i know dannii has done a few good singles and i certainly dont begrudge the fact she is still around,,,,but i am been realistic,,,im not a major fan of most of her stuff but she is very lucky to be still having the chance to make and release records mel c of the spice girls has sold more than dannii has and she done in a much quicker time space and was dropped,,now a days she has her own record label.. mel c was dropped havin had quite a few top 10 hits and 2 top 5 albums so thats just one example im using to make a point
June 22, 200619 yr and again i hope im not offending the dannii fans by saying what i said,,,i hope we can debate about it all in a freindly way as im not here to stir up trouble or put anyone's nose out of joint.. what i will say is i admire any fan who stands by there fave artists groups through good and bad as that what real fans are amde of and dannnii has a few of them kinda fans some of which we have here at this forum

June 22, 200619 yr Author I understand what you are saying and I agree to some extent. She gets small deals and has average outcomes. You can tell by the quality (or sometimes, lack of) for her videos. If she was given major record deals she would be a finanical disaster. But she isn't. She generally sells enough to get by. She still releases music because she does have a mild selling power. Not because she's Kylie's sister. She would not get money invested in her time and time again if that was simply the case. And yes dannii's highest sales = kylie's lowest sales. But success on a scale, this is good for dannii. She wont ever have killer sales, and that's okay. If you expect allot of her then she is a failure. the new album is a hit by AATW standards. How do I know? Her webmaster apears happy and the label themselfs have never had a top 20 artist album before. Its a small label with low expectations. Infact dannii is probs the biggest thing on AATW. I am not dillusional, I am not a trouble maker. I just think that 16 years on...the girl must be doing something right. And she has had some dissasters, but with them some sucess to. Enough to justify her having a carreer.
June 22, 200619 yr thanks for such a nice responce in the above,,considering your a huge dannii fan i see where your coming from,,,when looking at it from the point of view you rea making dannii is doing ok but i guess im looking at it from not really been an overall fan who its easier to see her low points,,,,i know she has had a few good singles but i always wonder how she manages to get so many chances also i cant understand how the greatest hits is working,,there are quite a few record companies involved with many songs from many labels..has her new record company bough the rights or something
June 23, 200619 yr Author from what I know AATW have bought all of the songs. That's gotta be pricey. But even if the album just went silver that would be a hit in dannii's right and enough to please the record company. whilst it would be a disaster for kylie or someone like madonna. For dannii, it is something to be happy about. It is simple I think, if she didn't make herself or a label any kind of profit she wouldn't get chances. she has selling potential so she is still here. I am just this deffensive over Kylie. Only Kylie never needs deffending! lol :)
June 23, 200619 yr i do understand where your coming from,,,,i am very defensive of the acts i really follow i know i try and defend the likes of kylie,bon jovi,and def leppard to the top if they are getting slatted i recently had the problem in the rock forum where there were a few bon jovi haters annoying me!!!1 i am lucky enough with green day no one seems to be against them,,,def leppard get very slatted bit although im a huge fan i can see why people slate there newer material so much
