  • After completing their tour of Australia alongside Nine Inch Nails and Lamb of God, they're now onto touring the US with the album getting released there tomorrow only.
  • It's their first concept album and I'm sure the song titles and after hearing the album in full will tell us why
  • It's been described as much more heavier and harder rock than their previous 4 albums
  • "Spellbound" is the first single to be taken off the album, with the 2nd single currently being decided by fans on their myspace poll.

"Spellbound" is a pretty good indicator for what's the rest of the album like so definitely worth a listen:

Hmmmmmmmmmm.... I've listened to this album about three times now, and absolutely NOTHING is really going in or blowing me away...... I dunno, it's not that it's rubbish, but it's just one of these albums that's "there" but doesn't really leave a lasting impact.... Comalies was a classic record, everything about it was just so damn amazing, but "Shallow Life", I'm just not really getting into... Is it the production maybe...? Could be, I'm not really impressed by how the album sounds tbh, apparently, it's the same producer as Linkin Park's comeback record, which similarly left me feeling "meh"..... Cristina's vocals sound good, but overall, it's so far not really impressing me at all..... Still, I had serious misgivings about the last Nightwish record when I first heard it, then I left it for a few months and it made more sense when I went back to it......

Hmmmm, maybe, just leaving it a while before listening again....? Could be a good idea, because just now, I'm seriously underwhelmed with this record...... But then again, I have been listening to it along with the new ones by The Horrors and Isis, and those are just blowing me into another dimension......
