July 7, 200916 yr Woop! Hope this song does well, the video is classy and elegant and the song is summery and interesting!
July 11, 200916 yr For some reason this has been really low on the midweeks :( I think there have been stocking issues with the physical. Can't believe I'm saying this, but if this song is not top 40 tomorrow there will be hell to pay
July 11, 200916 yr For some reason this has been really low on the midweeks :( I think there have been stocking issues with the physical. Can't believe I'm saying this, but if this song is not top 40 tomorrow there will be hell to pay  I'm so getting a #41 vibe for this. It'd be yet another disappoint in her launch to add. This was her only chance of getting a hit (the album, unfortunately, isn't up to much) and it's looking possible that it might miss the top 40. I'm betting the record label didn't see there being much demand for it and only shipped a limited amount of CDs.
July 11, 200916 yr I can't see it missing the top 40. It was #38 on the Almost Saturday Chart, and of the 9 songs immediately below, 7 are by MJ and are way behind on iTunes!

Been through this before on the prediction thread, MJ is ahead because he is outselling her on iTunes - it's all because MJ has multiple versions. For example at one ponit yesterday. Michael Jackson - Earth Song, Position on iTunes #55, #302, #411, #555, #613, #622 Six versions, it adds up to the same sales as a single around #20 on iTunes. Edited July 11, 200916 yr by Ricky

But they're all falling pretty rapidly. His highest entry for that song is now #73 on mine which is always behind. So he'll have fallen 20 places in a day with his highest, it'll probably be a lot more for the others. Her song has twice the popularity bars of the highest entry for 'Earth Song'. I can't see songs that low adding up to the same as that to be honest, the song at #100 has 5 popularity bars, #73 7. If the other 5 make up 7 popularity bars between them, I'll be extrmeley surprised. Also, Jacko started the week a lot higher than VV. His songs were in the top 40 whereas it took VV well over 24 hours to be selling on par with him. Edited July 11, 200916 yr by RabbitFurCoat
July 11, 200916 yr There weren't any stocking problems that I could see in Exeter's HMV this afternoon. They had a whole row of "Shark In The Water" CD singles for 99p, shamefully nobody appeared to be buying them though. :(

So both artists are falling fast. I hope your right that she makes Top40 but it's not a forgone conclusion.

True, but she's actually about as close to #24 in terms of popularity (and therefore sales) than she is to #37! It's not a foregone conclusion, but I'd be very very surprised if she's not top 40 tomorrow. I'm still thinking it'll be quite comfortable by a couple of places... July 11, 200916 yr Don't mean to be a downer, but I wouldn't call #36 (being optimistic here) "comfortable" for an artist that was hyped for top 10 stardom a few weeks back, and that the press has already called a "pop icon"... :snif:
July 11, 200916 yr And the song is in neither the airplay chart or TV play chart... And to be fair, I only meant that it should be comfortable of reaching the top 40, I honestly can't see it missing it at all. I didn't say it was particularly good or successful! :(
July 12, 200916 yr I don't understand why she is doing so bad, especially as she was hyped to be one of the big stars of 2009!
February 3, 201015 yr http://i48.tinypic.com/2a8hrmr.jpg US single cover, not sure why they had to change it.
February 3, 201015 yr Apparently her album is NO 22 on US itunes, good for her she will blow up in the States.
