Posted April 24, 200916 yr If any of the mods want to move this to the pop forum, then feel free to do so. :heehee: Well, it's the name of his new single from the upcoming album, 'The High End of Low', just downloading now..
April 24, 200916 yr Author lol just how "pop" is it? Haven't listened to it yet, this is just pre-judging from the sound of his last album (and another couple of albums before that :heehee: )
April 24, 200916 yr It's pretty poppy. Well, the backing music at least. I doubt anyone in the pop forum would appreciate it though :( Well I'm judging that on the single though, don't know about the rest of the album, haven't downloaded it yet... I actually really like the single though! FIRST YOU TRY TO f*** IT THEN YOU TRY TO EAT IT
April 25, 200916 yr With Twiggy's return to the fold, I think this album might actually be an improvement on the last two.... It's really easy to underestimate just how important Twiggy/Jordy actually was to MM, but it's a fact that Twiggy wrote most of the actual music itself..... I just dont believe that it was mere coincidence that MM's decline pretty much began when he sacked Twiggy.... Twiggy's pretty much always been seen as the "coolest" member of the band..... So, I am actually prepared to give "High End of Low" a listen.....
April 25, 200916 yr Author Just listening to the song, it's pretty average. It reminds me of something though.. [i think it's quite 80's sounding  ]
April 25, 200916 yr It reminds me of something though.. [i think it's quite 80's sounding  ] Marilyn Manson, "80s sounding"??? Never.....  :P
April 25, 200916 yr I quite like the song. Not like Heart-Shaped Glasses though which was just beyond incredible! <3
April 25, 200916 yr i only really like Manson when Trent Reznor worked with him. In some ways I kind of agree that Trent's contribution was major, I mean, my favourite MM album still remains "Antichrist Superstar", which was the final one Reznor produced for him... But, Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood are also good records, so it cant just be the Reznor factor which is vital.... If there's one thing that's been proven by the incredible comeback of Metallica it's that bands can just go into the wilderness for years, and seemingly just totally lose it, and then all of a sudden come back with a vengeance and seriously get their Mojo back.... I hope that Twiggy returning to the fold gets MM back on their feet.... Would also help if they could get John 5 back as well......

April 25, 200916 yr well I think one thing may be that im a bit biased when it comes to Trent  and also, we probaly would never have heard of MM without Trent  gotta love Trent  infact a performance i love is NIN doing 'Gave Up' in the studio featuring MM: 9xmfS2vKDwk I probably saw that video when you were still at primary school mate..... :P You're so gonna hate me now, I saw NIN when they did Lollapalooza way back when and when I was dossing around in the States with some mates one Summer back in the early 90s...... Yep, and I saw Jane's Addiction then too...... How much do you hate me....?
April 25, 200916 yr ok i knew you had seen NIN before, but at lollapalooza, one of the most legendary gigs they have done, yes i am rather jealous, and Jane's too, althought not as bothered about them, still looking forward to seeing them though at the o2.

Jane's Addiction are really great man, seriously..... I saw them play a few times back in the day, and, there were serious sparks coming from them.... When they're on their game, they are a fukkin' great live band..... Nothing's Shocking and Ritual De Lo Habitual are classic albums...... Strays is alright as well, but not as good as the other two..... I really hope they play "Three Days", I absolutely LOVE that song......

I'm not surprised that the inevitable split will happen... It's always been the way with Jane's Addiction.... They burned so brightly, but when you burn that brightly your flame just burns out all the quicker know what I mean (remember the quote from Bladerunner "The light that shines so bright lasts half as long and you have shone so very bright").....? There's always been tension between Perry and Dave Navarro, I remember a time when Dave actually punched Perry onstage..... That sort of intensity has always been there with Jane's Addiction... The tension makes them a great band, but it unfortunately leads them to self-destruct as a unit..... :(
April 25, 200916 yr Manson has been going downhill musicwise since Holy Wood, which is a shame considering he's actually a really intelligent guy. Lawlz, this new album is going to blow I bet. Heart Shaped Glasses is one of the worst songs of the century, as well.

Heart Shaped Glasses is one of the worst songs of the century, as well. Tbh, only his first two albums are worth listening to, but Mechanical Animals isn't too bad. I wouldn't say Manson's that intelligent, he covered 'Tainted Love' in that horrific-MTV style way and managed to loose one of the most beautiful woman in the whole of the world.
April 25, 200916 yr If you watch any interviews with him, it's clear that he's a pretty intelligent guy... Mechanical Animals is easily his best imo. Conceptually and very consistent, and probably his most risky / out there album. Good stuff.
