Posted April 25, 200916 yr With a few ballads this year - which songs from the contest do you think Jade has to go up against to take the title of best ballad?
April 25, 200916 yr Author I adore Iceland aswell, but I'm not convinced they'll qualify for some reason. Logially they should, but there's just something in my mind that says they won't. I hope I'm very wrong, as I'd love them to do well.

I think they will :) I think we will see another Eurovision with Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland qualifying :) Edited April 25, 200916 yr by Jerick
April 25, 200916 yr Well.. I'm a big fan of Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.. I don't find the Swedish entry as good..
April 25, 200916 yr I hope Denmark doesn't, but I seem to be the only one that really thinks that... I thought Poland was stronger than Iceland for a while, but seeing both live last Friday means I changed my mind! I think people are underestimating Malta - the dance remix is IMMENSE
April 25, 200916 yr Iceland is lucky that it's in a very weak semifinal. :P I'd say Jade's biggest competition would be Ukraine and Greece. The UK song is great, but I can only see it getting lots of 7s and 8s while the 10s and 12s go to Ukraine, Greece, and maybe even Serbia.
April 25, 200916 yr Iceland of course! The song is very good considering that I saw the live performance of that talented girl.
April 25, 200916 yr Maybe Malta.....I've heard the new version and it's very strong.....it kinda depends on how it's performed whether it goes down the "powerful performance" or "Forgotten Performance" There may be some slight bias in this opinion :kink: Iceland is kinda boring imo......or at least it's not very original... I mean I do like it somewhat but it doesn't really grab me.......the juries still out on Iceland.... Edited April 25, 200916 yr by Sabrewulf238
April 25, 200916 yr Iceland have the best 'traditional' ballad of all the ballad entries into this year's competition - it runs Jade VERY close for me, and although it goes without saying that juries will benefit them moreso, I think it's far too subtle to appeal to voters at home unfortunately :( Jade will get the Lloyd-Webber boost seeing as he's performing onstage as well...
April 26, 200916 yr I think Malta will be Jades biggest battle of the ballads, id be shocked if malta dont do very well and i think they will end up top 3 and chiara always delivers the goods on the night
April 26, 200916 yr I'm not a massive fan of any of the other ballads this year tbh. Best for me aside from Jade is Poland's entry - think that's a really good song. Not feeling Iceland's entry at all but will be surprised if it doesn't qualify as it seems to be quite well liked and Malta's warble-fest makes me cringe. I can see Chiara getting the jury vote from her semi final and completely bombing on the final night.
May 1, 200916 yr I think Malta have a good chance to get thru to the final since they ironed out a few quirks to it.
May 3, 200916 yr Im really liking the Turkish entry!! I think it has good chance. Makes you wanna get up and dance! WuNLYbEB32g
May 3, 200916 yr Digital Spy Jade Ewen 'confident' over Eurovision UK Eurovision entrant Jade Ewen has said that she is confident about her chances of winning this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Ewen will sing the Andrew Lloyd Webber-penned 'It's My Time' at the final on May 16 at the Olympic Indoor Arena in Moscow, Russia. The singer told The Guardian: "[i've been to] Malta, Bosnia, Greece, Moscow and Kiev. I think Sweden's next. I want to prove to these countries that we're taking it seriously this year. "Europe thinks we don't take Eurovision seriously - that's why they give us such low points every year. So I wanted to show that this year it's different." She added: "Everywhere I go, people cheer and they yell, '12 points!' at me. So it's looking really good. I'm still confident. I'm apprehensive, because I want to win, but I'm not worried." The singer also said that she never considered auditioning for The X Factor in the past because "before Leona [Lewis], it just wasn't big enough".
May 3, 200916 yr Well, even if X Factor is big enough, I doubt Jade will win the X Factor. ;) Edited May 3, 200916 yr by FMbassador11
May 3, 200916 yr Personally I think everyone is Jade's competition - it's so mixed and high quality this year! Anything could happen!
