April 26, 200916 yr One of the few people I wouldn't hesitate to call a musical genius. The pre- and post-Gabriel Genesis show who was the creative influence behind the band. I saw him licve when he was promoting his first solo album and then several more times over the years. It was thanks to Peter Gabriel that I started listening to the likes of Youssou N'Dour. Paul Simon is often said to be the first western musician to work with African musicians (on Graceland) but PG got there first.
