May 22, 200916 yr http://i44.tinypic.com/1q4fvt.jpg ROBBIE PLANS COMEBACK WITH ONE - OFF IRISH GIG ....BUT NO TAKE THAT RENUNION Friday May 22 2009 Superstar Robbie Williams will perform a one-off gig in Dublin next October, the Herald can reveal. The Angels star is embarking on a series of comeback shows in a move which could net him more than €10m. However, a source has said there is "no chance" that he would deign to appear with his former Take That pals when they rock out at Croke Park on June 13, as he wants to continue his solo career. Instead, he has set his sights on playing a gig in the capital city as he starts rebuilding his pop career since his last album panned three years ago. "He feels like performing with Take That in Croke Park would be a huge step back for him. This is a group that he left more than 10 years ago because he wasn't happy with the direction they were taking, so to share a stage with them again would make him look like his solo career was a big flop," said an industry source. "His plan is to perform a concert at an intimate venue in Dublin in a few months time as he gets his career back on track as he still has a big fan base over here. "Ireland has always had a special place in his heart, especially because an Irish guy that he met over here wrote his biggest ever hit, Angels, which everyone knows is the song that saved his career. "Robbie's plan is to completely overshadow Take That's tour with a really impressive show of his own. "He's dying to get back in front of a live audience again after finishing his new album two years ago and feels that now is the perfect time to do it." His last release, Rudebox in 2006, received a decidedly lukewarm response from both music critics and fans alike and he has spent the past few years working on new material. Sizzle The award-winning star has now joined forces with acclaimed writers like Guy Chambers and ace producer Mark Ronson in a bid to send some A-list sizzle to his forthcoming album, which has no release date yet. Earlier this year, it was claimed Robbie was set to reunite with his Take That bandmates -- Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald -- following the runaway success of their comeback. However, Gary, whose blazing rows with Robbie were one of the main reasons why he quit the band in 1995, has since denied a reunion is imminent. May 23, 200916 yr REDEMPTION FOR RUDEBOY ROBBIE http://i41.tinypic.com/34huagg.jpg GOOD news for ROBBIE WILLIAMS fans - he’s going back to ballads. The singer lost the faith of many loyal fans by releasing his experimental rap-style album Rudebox in 2006. It bombed so badly that thousands of copies were melted down to pave roads in the Far East. ( along with millions of others who of course are not mentioned :P ) But his latest producer TREVOR HORN, the production brains behind FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD’s huge success in the Eighties, said fans are in for a treat. Speaking at this week’s Ivor Novello Awards in London, he told me: “There will be a few ballads on there, yes. “The album is still a long way off from being finished but it’s going well.” I’m glad to hear it. For all that I’ve given him stick over the years, Robbie is the only male solo star this country has at the moment. ...that's a bit harsh .. :o ..I am sure there are a few artists out there who feel otherwise -_- Source .. .The SUN Edited May 23, 200916 yr by Propeller
