Yet the contest has been filled with UK Top 10 hits yet for some reason we did a UK #10 Spinoff? :/

I mean, I'd be happy with remixes / instrumental, but I'd love foreign language as well.

Yes.

Unless you want to pass on the hosting duties.

Thanks, I don't think I'll pass. The only problem is from 24th May - about 8pm on 27th May on holiday, which is quite frustrating.

And, Azerbaijan are the 3rd best non-english country in it this year.

Soul - 1 out of 150

"Rap" - 2 out of 150

Metal - 2 out of 150

Remixes - 0 out of 150

" "

You're not really winning me over here and you're quite subjective as well because of your obsession with foreign languages songs...

Foreign languages songs are not really the genre tbh. And all i listen is foreign languages songs, even english is a foreign language for me ;p

 nice way to distinguish UK, Ireland and 'non-english' countries

Non-UK, I meant. Ireland count as that.

Is Ireland 'non-english'? :o

Anyway, you sounded like 'There're the UK and non-english countries in the Eurovision Song Contest' :(

Would mash-ups be put in with remixes perchance? :kink:

you're the mod, you decide :P

although anything mashed with a Eurovision song would still be disallowed :kink:

Of course we're not english! We're Irish! We just don't speak the language is all. :kink:

Although I wish we did :(, but I'm rubbish at Gaeilge. :nocheer:

Don't forget to put a ESC theme in the list :kink:

As for mash-ups I am quite scared to imagine how many artists we would be needing to reserve :heehee:

Yeah, i have put the 'language' meaning into the word 'english' at first ;p

I don't even know this language exists  :o

To be honest my stance on spin-offs is I don't think they're a good idea but I will take part just for the sake of it.

The contest is already too female-pop diluted and a lot of people think that. The reason that the 'male only' contest was rejected is because it takes away everyone's best male entry and decreases the chance of a male winning.

Why exactly is this any different from any other type or genre of music? Having a contest purely of foreign songs, instrumental songs or remixes means 40+ people finidng their favourite song to fit this type. The most popular may have been entered in the main contest at some point and it again reduces the chances of anything other than poppy female songs being towards the top as you're taking all the best competition out in one fell swoop.

IMO there shouldn't be any spin-offs (bar Best-Ofs of course) unless they involve cheap songs, because things like UK number 10s are one of the things that won't really affect the contest.

So sorry for you :( I'm gonna miss you here :o :(

U are amazing too, so sorry people can't see that :(

Ireland, are not classed as UK. Anyway, what I was trying to say, was excluding Jade Ewen, Azerbaijan are my 3rd favourite song in the contest.

So much for 'having dignity' eh Liam?

Seriously, that was EMBARASSING to read :( just go if you're going to go.

Thanks! I'll see you at FLSC though?

Well, would normal rules apply as such to spin-offs? :kink: I could see the argument for not including ESC songs in the foreign language spin-off, but remixes etc. would be a different kettle of fish altogether seeing as it's a different song...I'd go as far as suggesting that even former entries would probably be allowed (in remixed form - and obviously not if the remix was the original entry, i.e. the Everytime Hi-Bias remix :P).

And I don't think artist reservation would even need apply for mash-ups if allowed, it would be far too hard to govern...

Thanks! I'll see you at FLSC though?

hell yeah :kink: even if the contest is a littel boring atm Im sure we can get it better if more poeple joined ^_^
