May 5, 200916 yr There's nothing wrong with posting in these threads. It's just every time someone made a comment, you made a comment about it every time. I don't think people hate you, it's just kind of irritating.

May 6, 200916 yr The language barrier in the end really DOES play very significant role! :o But i think it's crap either tbh :kink: No, not at all. You're talking to the person who was denied a deserving result by one of their favourite entries by the language barrier here - I adored Opium, I just don't like Dyshi as much because there isn't as much to it, nothing to do with the language :P

Language bareer.
May 6, 200916 yr I'm not denying that the language barrier plays a significant part, but your post was implying that I didn't vote for Dyshi because of the language barrier :P
May 6, 200916 yr Thanks Erik! First odds I've seen with HIM to qualify! They are amazing - and should qualify!
May 6, 200916 yr I'm not denying that the language barrier plays a significant part, but your post was implying that I didn't vote for Dyshi because of the language barrier :P Oh, sorry, I need to learn to put my thoughts onto the internet post correctly :( It wasn't the major point, of course! The language just helped the song to be not liked by you... (imo) I remember your love to some foreign songs and would never say that you completely ignore the song only because of the language it's sung in ;p

In any case, doesn't the last line of your post completely contradict what you said in the first part?

May 6, 200916 yr Oh, I see  And yes, Opium has an English-language version, called 'Why' IIRC...it's really quite awful. Awful accent, awful restructuring of the lyrics, awful change to the production...it really does ruin everything beautiful about Opium :(
May 6, 200916 yr This is, truly, absolutely awful and ruins the impression from the Russian version. On YouTube there're very much "Umh me gusta muchisimo mas en Ruso q en ingles." posts. So most of people think so as well :o
May 6, 200916 yr I always thought "Dyshi" was in English and "Opium" was in Russian! Shows how much attention I paid to that song. :(

I much prefer Never Forget You to Don't Stop The Rhythm but maybe it's just me :o
May 6, 200916 yr I much prefer Never Forget You to Don't Stop The Rhythm but maybe it's just me :o I think both are pretty good tracks but I think this is a bit less catchy perhaps. Plus it sounds like it came from the Sharleen Spiteri album, which is maybe a bit last year? It's not totally disimilar from the Paloma Faith track, which I think will do quite well, so maybe it'll do fine.

May 6, 200916 yr I am quite confident that Scherz will qualify despite mixed reviews on the song - but I'm not sure how they will do if they reach the final! BTW I've Found my possible BJSC XVII entry - and it's a Jessica Mauboy song, but not Burn or Been Waiting... any guesses?
