1980s pop group Kajagoogoo are to re-form and will stage the first UK tour with their original line-up in more than 25 years, they have announced.

The band, fronted by singer Limahl - famed for his mullet hairstyle - had hits in the early 1980s with songs including Ooh To Be Ah and Big Apple.

They split months after their biggest hit, Too Shy, went to number one.

Limahl, 50 - real name Christopher Hamill - said it had "taken 25 years to grow up". The tour begins in September.

Hamill left the band in 1983 and was replaced as lead singer by bass guitarist Nick Beggs.

The original five-piece line-up briefly re-formed for VH1's Bands Reunited programme in 2004.

oh lord..... all these re-unions are getting beyond a joke now. they were ok 26 years ago, but im very doubtful that these old men (my generation) have got actually anything to say now to todays yoof...

To be honest they were not very good in 1983 IMHO.

Nick Beggs is a great musician who managed to make one great record once the band split up:

Ellis Beggs & Howard - Big Bubbles No Troubles

My fav track they did was Big Apple made after Limahl left to go solo.

i mean they were acceptable for the market they were aimed at, compared to todays pop acts aimed at young markets.

i LIKE 'big apple', so on the strength of that alone ill not condemn them :)

Now watch all the hardcore fans buy their single in the first week so it goes straight into the top 10, and then drop out the top 40 the next week...
Whoever their PR people are - chuck them an award - they've had more press in the past 2 days than they ever had when they were out the first time. This is not a reunion to be celebrated, it's one to be worried by...who the hell will be next? The Sydney Youngblood comeback tour? Tasmin Archer's greatest hits?
Leighton Buzzards the place that brought us The Barron Knights oh dear! Kagagoo were only slightly better.
Tasmin Archer's greatest hits?

I'd love to see that - I can't think of any songs from her other than Sleeping Satellite.
