I wondered who the female timelord was too, but never considered the Doctor's mother, i did think it might be Romana.

But it was a good episode, i loved the ending where he said his final goodbyes. I imagine the radiation was

working slowly, given him time to do all that. A painful slow death instead of a quick regeneration.

It was a good twist finding out that Wilf was behind the four knocks, and the sudden realisation by the Doctor

that it was either him or Wilf knowing he couldn't let Wilf die and sacrificing himself.

All in all it was a good swansong for Tennant.

Having seen the regeneration into Smith, and the trailer, i think the new series will be a good. Sure enough,

Matt Smith has some pretty big shoes to fill and while may not better Tennant, i do think he will make a great

Doctor.

I'll give the episodes

8/10 part 1

9/10 part 2

huh.... way ott, noise, special effects, weak storyline that failed to live upto its initial promise and wtf was all that last 20 minutes in aid of?..

it was drawn out far too much.

and the timelords... how come they are more like a medieval clan (prophetic writings? lord we aint in israel 2 thousand years ago) rather then highly evolved race? the timelords should be as advanced as dr who if not more so.. imho they got it wrong (they always did) .... it didnt work for me.

5/10

I'd agree with this... A rather disappointing way to end Tenant's run as the Doctor... Part two was better than part one, but only really by default, part one was just an utter mess from beginning to end... And, sorry, but when everyone became The Master, I just couldn't help but think of the (genuinely disturbing) Aphex Twin video.... And I just p1ssed myself laughing tbh at what a pathetic rip-off it was......

Part two with all the "Star Wars" nonsense and the long-drawn out epilogue which tried too hard to be like Tolkien's wrapping up of "Lord of the Rings" didn't really do much for me either.....

This was poorly written stuff tbh, I am so glad that Russell T Davis will be writing no more Dr Who episodes... What should have been a great conclusion to the story of the 10th Doctor was really rather disappointing all in all.....
