May 19, 200916 yr Haa I saw the trailer for this in the cinema the other week and tbh, I thought it looked -well- $h!t. I might watch it online merely to swoon over Justin Long <3 lovelovelove.
May 19, 200916 yr I think it looks amazing! :o The concept looks kinda funny, but interesting. Could be pretty good I think, its got very decent reviews so far as well.
May 19, 200916 yr Author ^Decent aint the word! "Best Horror of the Decade" then again considering the $h!te we've been given this past decade its not that hard :heehee:
May 19, 200916 yr Yeah well you know how sometimes they like to overreact in reviews. :P It does look really good but for some reason I still have my doubts. :(
May 19, 200916 yr Hasn't this happened to all of the terribly overhyped horror films released this year so far? Who knows though, maybe this one turns out to be the first decent one.
May 20, 200916 yr Not something I'd ever be interested in but I do want to see this. Hopefully doesn't disappoint.
May 22, 200916 yr The Raimi fanboys are gonna be raping the IMDb..... I think this'll be good going by the trailer, but it certainly wont be "best horror film of the decade", blah, blah... That's just nonsense.... There are French horror films like Insides, Frontiers, Martyrs, Swithblade Romance, etc that are far more gritty and horrifying... And there's a Brit Horror coming up called The Disappeared that sounds bloody good as well....
May 28, 200916 yr Watched this last night. It's VERY jumpy in some/(well alot) of parts, a lot more so in many horror films I've seen. But parts of the film verge on the edge of being completely and utterly ridiculous, and funny to, and it's hard to tell whether the comedy moments are in or unintentional [like the bit when the goat screams, "YOU WHOREEEE" ]. Plus it's hard to tell whether the film is low or high budget, parts of of the effects are pretty lame, but it doesn't really matter. The tension and well crafted scenes are enough to make you jump. I enjoyed it, one of the jumpiest films I've ever watched.

You've obviously not seen Evil Dead 1 or 2 then mate have you....? Then you'd know that bit is very much intentional on the part of Raimi.... ;) That's the big diff between someone like Raimi and those arses who did Tormented, Raimi knows how to inject comedy into horror but still leave in the jumps and the scares..... There's a fine line between funny and just plain laughable, and Raimi understands this..... Pity he didn't teach that lesson to the guys who made Tormented......

I have the 1st Evil Dead on DVD :heehee: The one where the girl gets raped by a tree? If that's so then yes, it does work. It's very jumpy and very funny in some places. For example, how could a guy make a gypsy's handkerchief so scary? Yes he pulled it off
May 28, 200916 yr I have the 1st Evil Dead on DVD :heehee: [The one where the girl gets raped by a tree? ] The second one's even funnier and more extreme in some ways.... The part of the film where Ash is basically all on his own in the cabin is an absolute HOOT, while at the same time being quite tense, scary and gripping, and it's almost TOTALLY down to how Raimi shoots it.... Of course a bit of well-placed claret spurting and gore certainly helps matters....

From about 20/30 minutes in, it's just gore gore gore till the end of the movie! After a bit of researching about, I cannot believe the Evil Dead/Drag Me To Hell is by the same director behind the Spiderman films!

After a bit of researching about, I cannot believe the Evil Dead/Drag Me To Hell is by the same director behind the Spiderman films! He also directed "The Gift" and "A Simple Plan" as well.... And, for some peculiar reason, he's actually doing a remake of Evil Dead, AND Evil Dead 4, so, er, figure that one out, because it's quite weird.....
May 28, 200916 yr This is getting rave reviews. :o I'm seeing it on Tuesday, and I'm actually really excited LOL. I don't do well with horror movies (loved The Descent though), but this looks more like a comedy than a horror movie so I should be fine. Wooz.
