May 19, 200916 yr Eddie!!!!!! Gotta love their 'mascot' Eddie from their videos and concerts..... Amittedly, it took time for me to enjoy metal, whether British, or American....
May 19, 200916 yr Author Some Other Key Songs: Run To The Hills (1982 UK#7, (live) 1985 UK#26, (live) 2002 UK#9) The Trooper (1983 UK#12, (live) 2005 UK#5) OnRlXpIWERw Can I Play With Madness (1988 UK#3) Be Quick Or Be Dead (1992 UK#2) Were any of you fans of mascot Eddie's act whose classic lineup contained: Steve Harris, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Clive Burr and singer and sometimes passenger airline pilot Bruce Dickinson or not?
May 19, 200916 yr Lets face it, whatever genre you like, Maiden are legends and vital to the history of metal music, if it werent for them things would be different, and how can you not love the guitar in most songs and some of the classics such as 'Can I Play With Madness' and 'TRhe Number of the Beast' and lets face it, they still kick ass now (well live anyway).
May 19, 200916 yr I was never much of a fan of theirs in the '80's, but nowadays I seem to be warming to them :D it must be an age thing.
May 20, 200916 yr always considered them a second rate sabbath/purple tribute act... the imagery appealed to a younger generation then mine (sabbath/purple etc) so i personally ignored them as i didnt like their music anyway.. ..i dont consider that ive missed anything.

May 20, 200916 yr Ouch, thats a bit harsh maybe, but it how i felt. guess it was a generation thing, me being from the 70's generation had 'our' generation of rock acts... the originals. in the late 70's early 80's i worked in a youth club and many of the scruffy 14 year old, long haired tykes all started rating im.. i thought there was summut rather caberet about im, their style of singing and the iconography seemed abit... satirical.
May 21, 200916 yr One of my all-time favourite bands. I just want them to come back to Ireland as I missed them last time, and from vids I've seen of concerts they're one of the best live bands in the world. Best album is Piece Of Mind, best track is The Prisoner.
May 22, 200916 yr Love Iron Maiden one of my all time favourite groups and certainly the best out of NWOBHM, they went downhill a bit I thought after Paul DiAnno but still one of my faves Favourite tracks - Phantom of the Opera, Running Free, Transylvania, Prowler
May 25, 200916 yr They're actually producing some of their most elaborate and challenging music NOW.... "A Matter of Life and Death" is a pretty superb album, and Dance of Death was great too... Maiden seriously lost it in the 90s, but the slump was mainly due to Blaze Bayley who was rather hopeless as a frontman, but as with Metallica, the second half of the 00s has almost certainly seen them getting their mojo back....
May 25, 200916 yr I remember quite liking Can I Play With Madness - mainly due to the video really - and being totally confused when Bring Your Daughter got to number 1 (at the time I didn't consider the low sales post-Christmas factor!)
June 26, 200916 yr A great band, critical to the evolution of metal. Their first album is my fave. Fave songs Remember Tomorrow, Strange World, Transylvania, Prowler, Killers, Purgatory, Hallowed Be Thy Name etc etc cba to write them all lol.
