Phewwww After last week's Eurovision drenched blip.... this is a terrific chart.

 

Superb new entries from Depeche Mode (their finest single in over a decade, I think), Bat For Lashes (single of the year maybe?) and the great new Take That one.... I like almost all this week's chart.

 

One I really don't like, though, is the new Pet Shop Boys single... it's the PSB style I hate... the flippant, silly side.... see 'I'm with stupid', 'I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing'..... 'Yes' is a very disappointing album, I think....

 

Sad to see my current single of the year, Empire of the Sun's 'We are the people' limping out, too - this is a stellar single..... it's a shame Radio One has cloth ears and an embarrassing tendency towards 'yoof'..... :arrr: <_<

 

Love the Madness single.... and despite featuring Robyn, the new Royksopp single is undoubtedly excellent.
