Maybe MON will actually rotate a bit this season rather than trying to play 7 players in every game... Downing is out for 2-3 months too, there's still plenty of time for Milner to cement a place. 3 wingers in the squad that are good players, it's what they need if they're going to improve on 6th.

We we'll see. Like I say it was only rumours I heard about Young, but I could see him leaving. I know Villa have got Lerner to fund them, but he's hardly given MoN much as far as i'm aware. If Villa are to improve on last year (unlikely imo) they need to have greater depth in their squad and arguably two of their best players have left over the summer, albeit one forced to retire. I know Villa need to keep their best players but I could honestly see Young being sold.

Barcelona and Inter Milan have reached an agreement in principle to swap Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Barca forward Samuel Eto'o plus cash.

Reports suggest Barca will pay about £35m plus 28-year-old Eto'o in return for Ibrahimovic, 27.

In addition, Alex Hleb will spend a season on loan at the Italian club.

"The signing depends on Ibrahimovic, on Eto'o and all parties," said Barca president Joan Laporta, who is also keen to sign Valencia's David Villa

What a deal for Inter! :o

Zlatan isn't worth £35m let alone a far superior player in Eto'o as well.

Adebayor deal now official. £25m!

Man City have had a £15m bid turned down for Lescott (i'd guess they want both him and Terry...).

And there are rumours of Hull going for Barton. I could actually see that happening...

Adebayor deal now official. £25m!

Good grief. What formation are they going to start next season with?

A 2-3-5 or what?

They need to stop buying run of the mill strikers and sign some defenders and defensive midfielders for goodness sake.

I don't know what Mark Hughes is doing. He's certainly going about his transfer business the wrong way. Why another striker? I'm not sure. Maybe he envisions playing Robinho and Tevez out on the wings. Adebayor is just an idiot though, obviously he's done it for the money and nothing else.

Lescott and Terry? Would be an OK centre back pairing, but definite weaknesses, and the latter seems to becoming very injury prone as he gets on. Hope to God both Man City and Real Madrid f*** up next year. They've ruined a perfectly good transfer window.

Adebayor, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Robinho, Bellamy, Benjani, Caicedo, Bojinov and to a lesser extent SWP/Elano all currently on the books for City then.

Apart from him aiming to weaken his main rivals with these signings I can't see next season being anything more than an ego crushing exercise. Benjani, Caicedo, Boj and Elano won't really be expecting first team football (or even to be at the club come the end of the window) but the rest will all be assuming first team starts I'd imagine. Silly silly silly.

I've never understood the hype around Ibrahimovic. I mean he's nowhere near the £70-80M they wanted for him alone! £15M tops! and that's pushing it!

On Man City, tbh i've not really been that impressed with their signings, and i'm not saying this because i'm scared Arsenal's top 4 place is under threat or anything  They've gone about it in the right way in a way, buying experienced Premiership players, but at the same time they seem to have been buying players who've made it a habit to come out to the press and have a moan, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Barry, Adebayor have all done it and then add in Robinho aswell who's also known for a strop or 15, and it all seems to add up as a recipe for disaster. Still, massive kudos to Mark Hughes if he can contain all the egos and get them right up the table.

We've pulled out of the Crouch deal, which is unsurprising really. Obviously we're not an attractive enough proposition for his slag-sorry wag Abbey Clancey and considering he was asking for £90k a week wages he can fuck right off to somewhere stupid enough to agree to pay him that much. He's good but not THAT good.

We've apparently agreed terms with Marouane Chamakh but there are other clubs in for him so we'll wait and see on that one.

I think that was just his way of saying he doesn't want to play for you mate, Spurs ITK's say that we are in talks with Crouch and 60k a week is what is being talked about

Aye, ol' Saggy Face is in for a few of our targets it seems.

Well, good luck to Crouch at Spurs. I'm sure his missus will enjoy the shopping facilities down there.

Would be a good sigining for us tbh  hope it comes off

He had a cracking partnership with Defoe at Pompey so if he came to us i think we would have a good chance of Top 6

In terms of shopping Newcastle is better for shopping than London so am sure she would have loved the Metro Centre etc

Crouch has gone down in my estimation. I had him down as an honest bloke who would have been more in it for the challenge than the money, but alas. Would rather he fucked off elsewhere and we signed someone who actually wants to play for us. Still think he's a good player but well and truly under the thumb and very, very greedy.

There are reports on Spurs boards of you being interested in Darren Bent again, that would be a better signing for you than Crouch, he is a crap footballer in terms of link up play and everything but he scores goals for fun so if you get Bent then you will soon forget about Crouch

We've been after Bent since McCarthy was manager man, if he was that interested in a move it would have happened before now. I'm not arsed about Bent in honesty, i'd rather have had Crouch. If we sign him, great. If not, life goes on. I get the feeling the same thing would happen with Bent, he'd be after the money. I don't want us paying over the odds for him when we can bring in better for less.

Who can you bring in for less though that is better ?

The 17 goal last season players or ones who would have got 17 if they had been fit were likes of Torres, Lampard, Gerrard, Drogba, Anelka, Adebayor, Rooney, Ronaldo and so on, Bent while not as good a player as the ones I listed matches them for goals so I can't think of someone cheaper who would get more goals for you

Bruce has a habit of unearthing hidden gems from around Europe, and I reckon he can do the same thing for us. Watch this space.
