Posted June 22, 200619 yr would dance fans agree agree of disagree that dannii minogue has done some good dance tracks,,i cannot decide whether tracks like who do you love now and i begin to wonder are dance tracks or pop music
June 22, 200619 yr Who Do You Love Now is definitely a dance track. Its actually trance as the song is by the artist Riva, she just happened to sing on it.
June 22, 200619 yr she just takes decent dance tracks already established, then adds vocals on the top lol... a good trick, as some of her singles are excellent. She's hardly a dance act, though.... when I was in Ibiza summer before last she played one of the clubs there (Il Divino if I remember correctly) and a friend with us who went said people were shouting at her to get off the stage and to get the DJs back on - or ignoring her act completely.
June 22, 200619 yr Author ya tats the thing i dont know where dannii belings really as she fits in neither group of pop or dance
June 22, 200619 yr She's definitely pop, although perhaps with a slight more of a dance edge than Kylie but predominantly she's pure pop. And 'So Under Pressure' was one of the best pop tracks in a long time.
June 22, 200619 yr Author i wouldnt go that far,,so under pressure is medicore its nothing special ..
June 22, 200619 yr I think it's her best single by miles - a corking piece of pure pop. I was really shocked it only went in at 20 - I was expecting top 5.
June 22, 200619 yr I think it could have got top 10 in another week if they hadn't have released it with all the world cup junk clogging up the chart above her. :( It really deserved to do better than 'Perfection'. Edited June 22, 200619 yr by Aly
June 22, 200619 yr Author i will say so under pressure deserved to do better than perfection,,but perfection did not deserve to get to number 11,,they should be the other way round so under pressure shoul dbe the number 11 hit and perfection the number 20 hit
June 22, 200619 yr 'Perfection' shouldn't have been released at all, they should have had 'I Can't Sleep At Night' instead and then 'So Under Pressure' in an easier period. 'Perfection' buggered up Dannii's airplay chances, I'm sure of it. :(
June 23, 200619 yr Author you could be right but i agree perfection was a mistake to release and maybe so under pressure has suffered for it
June 23, 200619 yr you could be right but i agree perfection was a mistake to release and maybe so under pressure has suffered for it dannii is a pop singer, who guested on rivas EXCELLANT 'who do you love now'. dance/trance music is peppered with guest female artistes, many of who you never hear of again.
June 23, 200619 yr I think it's her best single by miles - a corking piece of pure pop. I was really shocked it only went in at 20 - I was expecting top 5. :o :o WIKIPEDIC ALERT WIKIPEDIC ALERT :o :o did you know that wikipedia doesnt seem to know the genre term Pure Pop!!! if you type it into the machine you get: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/02/Jesusofcool.jpg bizarre!!!  you might want to start the topic!!! (ps they have got bubblegum pop which is in the 2000s: Bubblegum pop then appeared to be declining at the turn of the millennium, as audiences tired of the many boy bands and pop princesses but suddenly started a new rebirth as network executives at Disney molded their female stars such as Hilary Duff, Raven-Symoné, Hayden Panettiere, and Lindsay Lohan into pop princesses. Pop punkers then entered the scene, with the hardcore punk sound softened for the benefit of the teenage crowd. Acts such as Simple Plan and Good Charlotte became heartthrobs to teenage girls, but they faced stiff competition from singers such as Ryan Cabrera, Aaron Carter, and Jesse McCartney. Along with pop-punk scene, urban music started to have a bubblegum pop feel to it. In late 2004, 2005, and some parts of 2006 artists such as Frankie J, Usher, Pretty Ricky, Omarion, Chris Brown, T-Pain, and Ne-Yo started to become increasingly popular, matching even the popularity of the "Disney" artists who were prominent at that time. At the same time, emo music had entered the bubblegum pop scene, as artists such as Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, and Hawthorne Heights become more targeted for preteen and younger teen group. When American Idol debuted in 2002, a slew of bubble-gum stars were created by the viewing (and voting) public. Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, and Carrie Underwood are among the pop-influenced Idol contestants who have hit it big with their target audience. Current bubblegum artists such as the dance-troupe-turned-girl-group The Pussycat Dolls, Ashlee Simpson, and Rihanna have topped the charts in 2005 and in 2006, many new bubblegum pop artists such as Aly & AJ, The Veronicas, and Cheyenne Kimball had started to appear on the charts as well. Hope Partlow, on the other hand, had decided to go on to the more singer-songwriter genre, but she is still hanging in the teen pop continuum!!!!)
