Picking up where Ministry and Nine Inch Nails left off, the Prodigy were a force to be reckoned with; a punk band in spirit, few electronic dance-rock band pushed the boundaries and rocked as viciously as The Prodigy did. The outfit slowly built a solid following throughout the 1990s, until 1996's MUSIC FOR THE JILTED GENERATION caught the eye of Madonna's Maverick Records. Their 1997 record, FAT OF THE LAND, was a breakout smash, buoyed by MTV's placing "Firestarter" on continuous loop. The Prodigy ignited a minor controversy with the video for "Smack My Bitch Up," which MTV eventually played despite full frontal nudity and massive drug use. While a touch of overhype spawned backlash, their core fans remained loyal through recordings into the next decade. - HMV

Scottish kitsch-dance producer, Calvin Harris, burst on to the UK music scene with his tongue-in-cheek single, "Acceptable In The 80s", which reached number 10 in the UK singles chart. A blend of retro synth sounds, and knowing lyrics it set the template for Harris' debut full length, I CREATED DISCO, released in June 2007. The album was preceded by Harris' second single, "The Girls", which upping the ante with it's ironic claims of sexual attractiveness--set to a synth sample from the Human League--the single shot top number 3 in the single charts. - HMV

Calvin out of the top 10 after just six weeks :(

Best #1 of the year so far :D

Just been off to sort me dinner out

Prodigy at #13 is an OK position a bit to low for me, my favourite released song by them is Firestarter which is their first #1.

Calvin Harris, I'm Not Alone is getting quite boring now. Girls is his best song.

Spose I should post seeing as I'm following the chart this week for the first time in an age:

OOh - Yay and Calvin Harris being played, Boo at it being played so early -_-

It's been a big few months for Jade Ewen. After beating some of the UK's most talented young singers on Andrew Lloyd Webber's BBC TV show, 'Your Country Needs You' she won the right to represent the UK at this year's Eurovision song contest. On top of winning such a huge honour, Jade has also now signed a recording contract with Geffen Records. 'It's My Time', the song Jade performed at Eurovision in Moscow was written by world renowned composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber and famed songwriter Diane Warren. The track is as spectacular as you'd expect, an epic, inspirational ballad. Jade gave it her best shot and was unlucky not to come away with the top prize as it was well received by all and was easily the UK's best entry in recent years. - HMV

Well, at least this year's entry in the Eurovision contest did pretty well for England. Can't wait to see the winner on This week's chart.

Ah, three songs in a row falling out of the top ten. One after just one week, another after six, and this after three.

I like this song a lot now, the last Ironik verse is epic.

Do not like this song, however i do like the original without all of the rapping by Chipmunk/Chip Diddy Chip and Ironik.

I was going to say it didn't do well, but actually it did - it's 40 places higher than Andy Abraham's peak :cheer:

im assuming Poker Face is next. Another week Top 10 or it could be as high as #8.

Poker Face gets a 13th week in the top 10. Hoarder! D:

Hoping Alex Rybak is at least 9, but 8 or even 7 would be brilliant thx. :D
