A new series of The Mitchell and Webb Look is set to start around June with a new Peep Show series set to start later on in the summer. :D Much excitement, some of their stuff (especially the sketches) is hilarious.

Oh I think Peep Show is better than the Inbetweeners. :P As much as I love the latter it doesn't come close to Peep Show. I got all five series of it on DVD for £20. :cheer: Can't go wrong.

i got it for 16 :w00t:

Peep Show ftw.

I dunno, I personally thought their BBC show was a bit hit-and-miss, whereas Peep Show was just absolutely hitting the nail on the head every time.... Seems to happen all to often unfortunately, once a more "underground" comedy act who cut their teeth on late-night C4 becomes more mainstream (and it doesn't really get any more mainstream than primetime Auntie Beeb), then they just seem to slightly lose their edge...

^^ I agree, Peep Show >>>> Mitchell and Webb, every time.

Some sketches in Mitchell and Webb are brilliant, but more often than not, they're much too try-hard, I find.

I'll definitely watch Peep Show though. Can't wait for the new series! :dancing:

I thought The Mitchell & Webb Look Series 1 was largely brilliant, but the second series was nowhere near as good.

But of course Peep Show is clasic cult comedy TV viewing.

David Mitchell has announced that filming for the new series of Peep Show begins next month.

The comedian, who won a Bafta earlier this year for his role as Mark Corrigan in the Channel 4 sitcom, spoke about the forthcoming sixth series on his Twitter blog.

"Very busy week... had first readthrough of Peep Show 6 scripts on Sat and they're brilliant," he said. "Shooting in July."

The Bafta-winning comedy, which also stars Robert Webb, is written by Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain.

In the final episode of series five, lead characters and best friends Mark and Jeremy discovered that Mark's former wife Sophie was pregnant, but the identity of the father was not confirmed.

If you had the misfortune of watching that awful so called comedy that preceded it starring Matt Lucas and Sean MaGuire, you would have found last night's TM&WL funny in comparison, believe me.

Personally, I thought this was a well observed, spot on sketch:

Community Support vs. Real Police

Whilst I laughed out loud at the Apprentice Producers skit and the Santa Claus wife having an affair skit at the end of the show.

But the funniest sketch of the night for me was this (very Two Ronnies-esque):

Brain Surgeon

I found the Brain Surgeon sketch quite funny, it was the highlight of a poor episode though I feel. I didn't get the Police one at all, it seemed to me they lost a lot of originality and it was lot less 'clever' funny and a lot more gimmicky. I just hope this was a poor start to the series and not a sign of things to come.
