Not a bad performance, better than the other three. We do need to improve though against Portugal or Netherlands. The only test we've had so far is against Sweden, and they don't match up to Portugal or the Netherlands and we only drew against them, so we need to improve for the next match.
I agree with the general opinion on here. It wasn't that great a game or a performance from England, but they won so no real complaints.

I wonder where everyone who thought Beckham is a has been who should be dropped has gone ;)

He scored a great goal, but his overall play was poor.

Great win for England though. Ecuador are a decent side, and they beat Brazil and Argentina in qualifying so it was a good result. Rooney played the full gamw which is a plus point and A.Cole was brilliant at left back.

Roll on Portugal vs Holland. I couldn't care who we play TBH as if you're gonna win the wordl cup you've got to play the best teams.

His overall play hasn't been amazing but he has now scored a goal and created 3 in 4 games so even if he plays overall badly it is best having him on the pitch as that 1 moment of genius from him in a game turns games

Beckham has been responsible for just about ALL of our goals so far which is why he's in the team ^_^ Lennon was brilliant in the short time he was on for though. :o

We weren't that great again but we still won but the next game will be our first REAL test.

Well, they did good. Not spectacular. I was impressed by the Ecuadorian team, they put up a good fight.

Ecuador aren't a bad side though and we have been the first side to propely beat them (Germany doesn't count as they rested theie best players).

Beckham has played similar today like Crouch did against T&T apart from when Beckham scored there was still loads of love for him, where as everybody else still slated Crouch. Beckham is a good leader still and a great role model and I take back what I said about him being dropped for the time being although I don't think it will be too long until his place is not garunteed.

We wern't great, but I just knew they would beat Ecuador, they had faith and answered my prayers, just a case of playing better in the next match, hopefully it be Holland, I think it be the better country to play against.

Yeah I agree with that completely ^_^

My ratings:

Robinson - 5 - If we have a weak link, then it's him.

Hargreaves - 7 - Played well out of position, nothing spectacular but did his job well.

Terry - 6 - Pointless booking and should've done better with the header which put them clean through.

Ferdinand - 7 - Solid.

A Cole - 8 *MAN OF THE MATCH*- Fantastic block to save us going behind, some great runs forward and never looked like he was going to be beaten.

Carrick - 7 Good game, showed why he should be in the team. That position should now be his for as long as we stay in...

Beckham - 8 Fantastic game, seemed a bit off sorts in the first half, looked good in the second. A great free-kick to give us victory and continued to play well despite being completely knackered. An inspired performance.

Lampard - 6 He was poor again today. His shooting so far has been awful in all games. Part of me hopes we don't get a penalty.

Gerrard - 7 Once again, better than Lampard... Not his best but didn;t do anything wrong.

J Cole - 5 He was disappointing today, especially after his performance in the Sweden game. A lot of mis-placed passes.

Rooney - 8 Never stopped trying, great skill to put it through the defenders legs. He might just be the person to get us through to the semi's!

Subs:

Carragher - 4 Pointless booking, didn't impress. And why he was brought on for J Cole I'll never know...

Lennon - 6 Only on for 5 mins but saw a fair bit of the ball. Did exactly what was needed.

I though Carragher was good when he came on, although it was a bit of a pointless sub. I agree with you on MOTM although Rooney and Carrick came close to MOTM.

The FIFA Man Of The Match...

John Terry

The FIFA Man Of The Match...

John Terry

I thought it was Michael Carrick?

Beckham was c**p. One of the worst on the pitch yesterday. All he did was score the goal.

Beckham was carsp. One of the worst on the pitch yesterday. All he did was score the goal.

He wasn't awful, but you're right in the fact that all he did was score the goal, and be sick :puke2: .

On the John Terry issue what do you expect?, its FIFA they'll have probably have being watched a totally different game to us knowing what idiots are in it.
