I'll just never get why someone would prefer Britney's current tour over P!nk's. Both have a circus theme, both girls put on a show but one of them sings and does a damn good job of it. People talk about Britney connecting with the fans on tour, but what could be more connecting than actually singing your songs to the crowd like you mean it?

 

Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong songs, but what would you Britney lot say was her best 'performance' on this current tour? I've seen "Womanizer" and "Circus" on Youtube, she just seems to walk around the ring and do the minimal amount of dancing on both. On "Piece Of Me" she's in a cage? Where is the stuff that excuses her inability to sing?

 

I don't think I'll ever be convinced after seeing P!nk doing "Sober" on her current tour, she still sounds good upside down in mid air on a trapeze. Once again, she's coming back to the UK in October and December, I'd recommend anyone who hasn't seen her this time around to go.

No of course I haven't, fun is an alien concept to me.

 

What I was referring to, were points like "she's amazing so get over it" and "don't like it? don't go" (all written in text talk nonetheless) that made it seem a tad childish, I hope you understand clearer now...

What she did on IND tour is Aerial Contortion in Silk, taken from Cirque Du Soleil. She hasnt really done a lot of Aerial Contortion in Silk on this tour, the dancers did a bit during get the party started. On this tour she has done the trapeze acts for sober and she did bungee acts during get the party started. during glitter in the air she did use the silks but it was different to the performances that she did on the last tour.

You miss the point of a discussion, which is what topics on a forum are intended for. Unless it's because you can't bare criticisms to be made about Britney? :rolleyes:

In The Zone was a more successful era, in terms of both sales (taking into account the decline) AND single successes around the world. Globally Circus hasn't even come close to being as big a hit as Everytime, and that was the third single from ITZ!

 

And, um.. what records is she breaking? Most zombified popstar in the top 20?

 

Womanizer is her biggest hit in the UK since Oops I Did It Again when it comes to sales, even though it only peaked at #3 it has still sold 370,000 units. And even though Circus (single) didn't crack the top 10 it has sold over 170,000 units.

 

I would consider those both successful.

I am going to live show because they are live. I expect for what i pay to get an unique experience, so from a singer i expect to sing for me live.

 

What come next? That Lang Lang mimes his playing on piano? That the rock acts doen't play their instruments? I think an artist should plan what he can do on a scene and if he is known as a singer, this is the priority. Dance is only a bonus. If he cannot do both, well, then no dance!

 

When i see so many people thinking that miming is ok on a live gig, i quite think that they are not used to hear live music at all and don't know what an experience is to hear live music. Naturally it will be not so perfect as on the album, but that is not the point: the emotion, the bond between artist and audience , the whole idea that this moment is now and never to be repeated. I will not give this feeling for any great "show" at all.

 

People used to hear music before. Not now anymore. What matter is how much naked are the dancers, how many stunts and dress changes, how "sexy" is everything. The quality of music doesn't matter anymore.... :unsure:

i dont get all this 'entertainment' $h!t with Britney, i dont see that she has the right to mime, because the show is more than just the music, for something that is based around songs, she shouldnt be miming, and also she hardly does any of the energetic stuff, its all done by other people, all she really does is walk around shaking her arse, she could easily be singing at the same time, and it is a crime that she is charging such harsh prices, to just be walking around a stage NOT SINGING.

 

i dont buy the 'entertainment' $h!t when other acts can have extremely complex live shows, charge for a fraction of Britney's price, and then NOT MIME.

waht annoys me the most is that they get away with charging up to £300 for a ticket, where the main person they are there to see just walks around the stage miming while there is a circus around her, but it's alright because the 'circus' is 'entertainment' so that completly justifies ripping fans off to see someone mime, where as NIN can do a tour, with such complexity, that has all this 'entertainment' bollocks, while charing a fraction of the price that britney does, and then not miming on top of this!

what really gets me is the price though, honestly do people thinks its fun to rip fans off that much, honestly i know she puts on a 'good show' and all that but they charge like your seeing it 3 times over, thank god my obsession is NIN, as Trent Reznor does whatever he can to stop fans from getting ripped off, where as Britney just lets her money grabbing managers charge extortionate amounts to fans, if i had all these people that would cae about me so much that they would travel to see me live, i wouldnt let people get away for charging so much for it.

Anyway, that aside, I'm glad you have brought this up. I think it should be unlawful to mime and trading standards should make sure everyone who has spent good money on seeing Britney, (who I think is little more than a talentless piece of vomit, sorry Britney worshippers...) given a full refund! It shows a complete lack of respect to her fans (she doesn't give a toss, let's be honest, I don't care how catchy her songs are).

 

Kylie, on the flip side, sang throughout her entire tour and is devoted to her fans. This can be said about very few established pop singers.

 

Miming at a concert just cannot give off the same ambience as mining, seeing Basement Jaxx most recently is testament to showing how much better live music sounds.
