GF always sounds like a very angry and loud man when he posts a comment on BJ!

Anyway, that aside, I'm glad you have brought this up. I think it should be unlawful to mime and trading standards should make sure everyone who has spent good money on seeing Britney, (who I think is little more than a talentless piece of vomit, sorry Britney worshippers...) given a full refund! It shows a complete lack of respect to her fans (she doesn't give a toss, let's be honest, I don't care how catchy her songs are).

Kylie, on the flip side, sang throughout her entire tour and is devoted to her fans. This can be said about very few established pop singers.

Miming at a concert just cannot give off the same ambience as mining, seeing Basement Jaxx most recently is testament to showing how much better live music sounds.

Didn't Kylie lip-sync to White Diamond at her Showgirl tour?

I love how this is mostly Britney vs P!nk now, she totally wouldn't approve. "Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears". :heehee:

I'll just never get why someone would prefer Britney's current tour over P!nk's. Both have a circus theme, both girls put on a show but one of them sings and does a damn good job of it. People talk about Britney connecting with the fans on tour, but what could be more connecting than actually singing your songs to the crowd like you mean it?

Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong songs, but what would you Britney lot say was her best 'performance' on this current tour? I've seen "Womanizer" and "Circus" on Youtube, she just seems to walk around the ring and do the minimal amount of dancing on both. On "Piece Of Me" she's in a cage? Where is the stuff that excuses her inability to sing?

I don't think I'll ever be convinced after seeing P!nk doing "Sober" on her current tour, she still sounds good upside down in mid air on a trapeze. Once again, she's coming back to the UK in October and December, I'd recommend anyone who hasn't seen her this time around to go.

I'm by no means a fan of P!nk, but I will gladly whole my hands up and say she is a first class entertainer and can hold more than a note! She shows genuine gratitude to her fans.

But the difference with Britney is her fans KNOW she mimes all the time and they don't mind paying for it. I don't know ... maybe they know how crap her voice really is and would rather just have her jiggle her arse and flick her hair back and just mime. The thing is ... if they know what they're paying for then they're not being ripped off. Maybe there should be some sort of notice on the posters and advertising saying that she will mime - just so those that are unaware can then make a decision ... but I doubt anyone except a devout Britney Worshipper would go to see her anyway. The only objection I would have would be if there are awards at the end of the year for best live show and she won over someone like Beyonce or Pink for instance - then there is something to complain about.

And another thing ... where does all this £300 a ticket come from? For a test I went on Ticketmaster and could have got six lower level, mid arena seats (good ones - especially as this one is in the round) at the MEN and they were £100 each plus booking fee. The next price of seats was £45 - so I think people are exaggerating on the pricing.

I agree ... I'd rather go to my local on a Saturday night and watch a local band sing live than watch a 'superstar' mime. As I put in a previous post ... the only person she's cheating / fooling .... is herself.

I was there and can confirm that she certainly did not. Amazing song though.

Can't comment on her Showgirl tour, but she sang live throughout on her X tour.

These are very fair points, if you know what's in store, then fine. But I still struggle to understand why anyone in their right mind can tolerate lip-syncing on a "live" tour? The funny thing is, she can't even lip-sync well! It seems the only thing she's good at is making a tit out of herself!

Sorry I will stop now!

In total agreement with you. But we're talking Britney fans here!

Sorry I think I'd better shut up now too!

re the kylie topic kylie never mimes at concerts ive been to many kylie shows and she always sings live

Aye!

The upshot I think is, in times when live tours have never been such a critical fragment of an artists career with how little money is made from albums, I think it's absolutely outrageous for any performer to fake it in 2009.

Fans of Britney who say it's all good and are cool with it are being completely naive.

yeah, i don't know know where it came from but its so false as any kylie fan knows she always sings live on tour and does it quite well too, if kylie mimed on tour i would be gutted and there is no way i'd pay a for a ticket for anyone and i mean anyone to mime!
she did not lip synch one line never mind a song on the showgirl tour or any tour for that matter, i remember kylie been asked about miming lip synching on the jonathon ross show sometime back and she she said she would never do that on tour but she had done on some tv shows

Britney tickets are NOT that expensive. My FRONT row seats were only $125, and there were seats available for less then $40.

They of course have package tickets where you get to go backstage, get all the merchandise for sale, and have ringside seats for $550 a piece but it pays for itself.

^ It's expensive for anyone! There's no-one in the world I'd pay that much to see, even with the bonuses.
No, the DVD is $374. But that includes tax! :magic:

LOLZ. ^

I also think the point Tyler made is important .. why is this SUDDENLY an issue? Britney has mimed/sung along for her last 2 tours before this one. Why is it suddenly a problem, when it wasn't in 2004? All these 'huge Britney fans that have been let down' ... where were they in 2001-04? I'm not saying it's ideal, or even right, to lip-synch on tours (although from my previous post, people know I don't care much either way), but it's hardly a SURPRISE for this tour.

Ooh Ooh Baby / Hot As Ice magic tricks yallll.

That is pretty amazing,

If I was to watch Britney perform, that it what I would expect ^ A show, with or without live vocals. But I wouldn't watch her purely for the fact she doesn't sing live though :heehee:
