Didn't even know it was digitally available already, for how long? It seems to have a lot of competition atm, hopefully it can rise above the ranks.

EDIT - just wiki'd, it debuted at #34 on the billboard hot 100, which is her highest ever debut, and on the latin chart it's her 14th top 10, making her one of only 4 artists to do that. Work it gurl ~

yeah so far so good, the video is doing its job boosting :D all last week she was in paris tweaking her album so she did nada promo. but i think she has finally finished and is coming back to the US for more promo duties. like a live performance? or maybe she will wait till VMA's? i hope its coming soon.

BUT radio 1 didn't playlist her this week, its ok right?? its too early?? or is it? should we get ready for another major snubbing of shakira again? why isn't our mate scott mills doing something?

i still love the freshness and bonkers aspect of She Wolf and a certain miss beyonce has finally released my favourite track from her album so i'm i aural heaven. only sweet dreams for this wolf apart from radio 1 ugly nightmares that is

Shakira 'worried about new video'

Shakira has reportedly admitted that she was worried about her family seeing the video for her new single 'She Wolf'.

In the clip, the 32-year-old singer appears almost naked, wearing only a flesh-coloured leotard while writhing around a cage. But despite her initial concerns, her parents have given the video their blessing, The Sun reports.

"My parents texted me to say they had watched it and really loved it," she said. "A bit provocative, but they loved it. But my mother was just a little bit concerned what the neighbours were going to say.

"No matter how famous you are, you always wonder what your parents and neighbours will say. Parents are like your conscience. My mum saw some of the images before the edit and said, 'Oh my God, is that really you?' My dad said it was very artistic. I have their blessing."

It is believed that Shakira's fiancé Antonio De La Rua, however, was not so keen on his partner's latest performance - even trying to convince Shakira to cover up. "He was at the shoot and he watched me walk out in the leotard and said, 'Hey, why don't you wear a scarf? Put a scarf on!'" she admitted. "Then he closed his eyes and just let it happen."

She added: "I showed his parents the video and the ex-First Lady of Argentina (De La Rua's mum) thought it was sexy but classy... [but] I didn't want to look at his father's face."

The 'Hips Don't Lie' star previously declared that she hoped her new album would help counter the global recession.

It's top 10 on US itunes now :cheer: it was #21 on the hot 100 last week so it should at least be top 20 this week!! This song has grown on me like crazy, i thought for sure it was going to flop in the US but it looks like its gonna be huge.

up to #7 on itunes, doing better than expected there are some really big tracks ahead of her that have been well promoted. add to that the boosting of the disney fodder from the award show and the combined onslaught of 3 acts rihanna, jay-z and kanye. its a tough battle but she is hanging in there. she is back from paris and is rehearsing with her band which suggests a live performance is coming next in the promo schedule.

hmv have updated, we have a 3track cd single coming on the 21st september. i'm assuming track listing...she wolf, loba and moto blanco remix. album 3 weeks after that.

other news...great scott!! scott mills has made she wolf his single of the week!! it shall be played everyday this week :friends: now we wait for the momentous day she gets playlisted for the first time. i'd settle for C list not asking for much.

It's doing really well, much better than "Don't Bother" which is really promising. Hopefully she can go top 10, even top 5 in the US.

September 21st is forevvvvver away in the UK though :(

yeah everything is going smoothly, getting gr8 tv airplay on music channels and now radio1 playlisted her, it is on C but that good isn't it? getting excited about her being C-Listed when all the other female singers have had A listed tracks in the past. oh well, its better than nothing. i can't believe we have a shakira single that is being embraced so well, fans can finally sit back and put their feet up. this era has so far had a better start than LS and OF2

I'm sure it'll climb at least to the B List. It's still over a month until it's released.

I think it'll be on the A List eventually though. It's gonna be huge.

She Wolf will be used for the Desperate Hw's Season 6 promo :)

New clips from the show mixed with video footage.

The Calvin Harris mix leaked, it's quite good. Puts a nice electro spin on the song.

Quite liking this single at the moment. Doesn't half stick in your mind after a few listens.

BTW does Shakira say 'bitch' in the lyrics? I think she does!

Where in the song?

B-listed on radio 1! :D

Around 1:55 in the song.

And fire department in case I get in trouble later,

the ??? disappeared, little divas a bitch that the guys just want to enjoy

It's "not looking for cute little divas or rich city guys that just want to enjoy"

  • 2 weeks later...

and the shocks keep on comin...shakira A Listed on radio 1 :D everything going smoothly, she has a chance like everybody else now. i want this to go top5, top3 would be a bonus but #1 is asking too much imo. lets still put our feet up, no need to do anything. also she is coming to the UK to do promo....radio 1 live lounge, jonathon ross and t4 special. i hope gmtv and loose woman too.

the cd single out in 2 weeks, i hope the artwork looks good with a graphic paw print on the actual cd. if only she did a vinyl 12" pic disc of the cover :naughty:
