i made the point of bon jovi so i guess the only thing i will say is we will agree to disagree,,,for me im a huge fan of the group always have and always will be so i will just have to enjoy them despite what others feel about the group..

A guide for what should be in this forum is what is in the NME. The Kooks and Editors are featured heavily in there, Bon Jovi has only been mentioned once fleetingly by Damon Albarn who said his nephew refers to them as Bum Bogie in 1995.

 

I agree that Blood shouldn't be coming out again, it was their breakthrough single last year and the original singles are still easy to get.

 

As for the mixes, the Oakenfold mix is awful, but the Jason Pierce mix is great.

it might be the same situation as nude records who were essentially a sony mindie outlet (signed a distribution deal with sony's indie arm 3mv) and then were fobbed off and closed down when sony couldnt be bothered. now nude is back with v2 who of course were one of the pre-punk indie record labels of the hippie era - virgin!!! (which became the secondary majors without distribution that got eaten up bu emi and universal, eg chrysalis (echo), island (palm pictures), a+m)

Grimly - I'm fully aware of what "indie" means...it's usually me telling other people that. I'm just trying to work out some way of saying what music I'd expect to find on an indie board.

 

Kylie Minogue was more indie than Blur or Oasis back in the day - but you wouldn't expect her on this board...you would the other two.

 

Bon Jovi fall into neither...and I'm merely having a go at people who can't accept that they are, and always have been, pop music.
