Another Monday...a slightly different look in our weekly preview, into what will or won`t be hot on next Sunday. Mainly due to the loss of Peter Jay and John McManus...redundant after 30 years in the business. There they are in their late 40s, and having to find work. Not easy, at any age in the current climate. Our thoughts go to them, and anyone else in that bad predicament.

This week, joining with the spectacular Mr Tom Kay...I`ve managed to join up 2 threads into 1. Keeping the preview going. Tom`s going to give us some videos, from our Monday Top 30 Singles Chart shortly. Where I`ve taken download info combined with new physical releases, based on pre-orders.

Firstly though, let`s have a look at our Album Top 30 preview:

A good healthy album top 30 there. What a good thing the Fathers Day extortion is over! Bubbling under here are Soulja Boy (I Soulja Boy), Heartbreakers (Various), and Noisettes re-rise with "Wild Young Hearts".

Last week, on the original Next Week`s Charts...Peter and John got 9 in the 10, 15 in the 20, 25 in the 30, and 34 in the 40 on the albums (where I also made a typo, and placed Blur at #2, actually P & J had them at #11)! In the singles they had 9 in the 10, 19 in the 20, 28 in the 30, 37 in the 40, and 46 in the 50. How will I do, practically alone, remains to be seen!

Just before, we look at the Top 30 Singles Preview Chart (with Tom...who will do a great edit!), this is how the Radio Luxembourg Top 30 singles looked, back in June 1979:

22 in the 30, for Radio Luxembourg in 1979. Slightly over profiling Wings` follow up to "Goodnight Tonight"...by 32 places! Quantum Jump were originally released 1n 1976, but flopped. During `79, Kenny Everett picked it up on his Capital Radio show...with those slightly dodgy lines. Disco everywhere, coming from the likes of Anita Ward, Janet Kay (reggae style), Amii Stewart (covering the Doors), Chic, Sister Sledge, Patrick Hernandez, Slick, and possible the Dooleys (with a slightly dancey piece). Graham Gouldman (out of 10cc), wrote and sung the theme to the film "Sunburn"...rather cheesey, and not even making the Official top 40. Thom Pace and "Maybe" was the theme to tv series "The Life And Times Of Grizzley Adams". As Chas N`Dave got their first top 20 hit, which originated in a advert for Courage Best Bitter..."Gertcha Cowson, Gertcha!"

Let`s join up with Tom, for a look at our singles top 30. "What have you got for us today, Tom?"

Add to that, here are 3 picks to click on next Monday:

Cascada - Evacuate The Dancefloor (dead cert top 10, we think)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (unlikely to make it, into the top 50)

Vogue - Twilight (another unlikely candidate)

Add to those, this collection:

Not Me But You - Jacks

Rusted From The Rain - Billy Talent

Not The Only Person - Rumblestrips

Her Diamonds - Rob Thomas

All those released on 29th June. The top pre-order by far is definately JLS (Beat Again), already looking like a dead cert #1 on Sunday 19th July.

Next a few of the movers and shakers in the top 30...They`re coming.

Here's some of the big newies from this week:

Must start with the big one from La Roux, a song that almost topped a certain confusing Big Top 40 on Sunday!

01 NE BULLETPROOF - LA ROUX

A top 10 physical this week, the 4th biggest pre-order, last week.

14 NE RABBIT HEART (RAISE IT UP) - FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE

The downloads slightly let this lot down, already slipping from our ex-Fresh Hits Chart.

36 NE 15 MINUTES - YEAH YOUS

Looking like a new #1 three weeks running :o Will it continue, what do you think Dave? I believe you have more pre-order news?

Thank`s Tom.

Well we already know about JLS.

The physicals of Jordin, and the Saturdays hit HMV next Monday too. This time, it looks like the Saturdays may have troubles, and even miss the top 10. Will Jordin get the 10? Slipping from a top 10 place on iTunes towards the end of last week, hard to say. But those 2 are the top over all pre-orders for next Monday.

I`ve got some more news to follow, too...

I really hope that "Bulletproof" doesn't outsell both "Hung Up" & "Toxic". :( It doesn't have the spark that those two classic tracks have.

Somebody said to me that Bulletproof is likely to stay at the top for 3 weeks. Is it possible?

Somebody said to me that Bulletproof is likely to stay at the top for 3 weeks. Is it possible?

I think that will indeed happen, and JLS will then take over.

Can't see it with JLS and Cascada on the way, but I would way prefer it than either...

It is likely that JLS will hit the top on downloads alone on the 12th July.

Cascada...it seem`s (as well as Tom), people think it could go all the way. Personally, I don`t think that Cascada will get a #1.

The other news was that Chipmunk is storming up on pre-orders with "Diamond Rings". An outside chance on Monday 6th July.

Oh, JLS is out on download one week early?

That means this'll probs happen:

1099 La Roux - Bulletproof 2wks

1100 JLS - Beat Again 2+wks

I'd love Chippy to get a surprise #1, but it ain't gonna happen. Top 10 at best imo :(

Firstly I like to say a big thanks to Peter Jay and John McManus for their help into the collaboration of the charts week after week, hope they find suitable jobs soon, its not very nice to be unemployed.

To be honest I never expected La Roux to be in with a shot of the #1 this week, after the overplay of In For The Kill I shall be eating humble pie next Sunday, if it comes to fruitation. For some reason I still prefer In For The Kill over Bulletproof anyday, maybe Quicksand would have been a lot better if they re-released it.

And I'm going to stick my neck out and say JLS have no chance at the #1 shot, but I bet I end up eating humble pie again. One good thing about the track its original not some cheesy cover like most reality acts do for their debut hits.

Sophie is listed as #10 here, could she really potentially get top 10 this week? Don't get my hopes up.

Could do, as she has a bigger physical seller than La Roux! The physical of "In For The Kill", did not do that well as I recall.
