The only thing that seems to redeem La Roux is a great album. Some say they are an inferior version of Yazoo, though unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with their material to comment.

 

I still think "Quicksand" is their finest moment. Owes more than a nod to "When Doves Cry" however...

I know this'll sound odd to most people but I think I prefer this to both 'In For The Kill' and 'Bulletproof'. It's really nice to listen to, her voice is much more bareable on it too.

I really like this song and I liked the performance this morning. I'm not too sure about her though! She seems dreadfully po-faced and serious for one so young!

She mentioned on Grimshaw just last night that Quicksand just "may" be released and that it's one of her album faves etc - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/b00f3lmy/Wednesday/console/ So this meeting must've taken place today I'm guessing? Starting to sound more like a Quicksand/As If By Magic (which she also said will be the 5th single) double A-side :/ If she goes with either Quicksand or Cover My Eyes I'm happy but anything else just won't cut it TBH.

Quicksand MUST be re-released, but they're frankly insane to not go with Cover My Eyes as a Christmas release. It SCREAMS Christmas #8 tbh :(

I think this song is a cross between "In For The Kill" and "Bulletproof". I didn't like IFTK but "Bulletproof" was good. Therefore I'm a bit 'meh' about this song. I don't like her a person either.

Thank GOD it looks like they'll go with a proper release of 'Quicksand', they'd have been insane not to.

Well, it looks like we've all been vindicated seeing as this has taken a direct route to Flopsville. Here's hoping Quicksand can salvage another top ten from this campaign...although I obv maintain that CME would be the perfect Christmas single.

I hate to say it but I think it's still going to be 'as if by magic' as the next single.

if this can't make top 10, or even 20, then 'as if by magic' certainly won't. the only two singles left on the album that can make top 10 now are 'cover my eyes' and 'quicksand'.

Why would As If By Magic be next single when it's near certain from the label meeting that Quicksand will be? :/
