June 25, 200916 yr Wheres Ting Tings like they have decent enough airplay and sales to get in the top 100.
June 25, 200916 yr Author Wheres Ting Tings like they have decent enough airplay and sales to get in the top 100. I was wondering about the Ting Tings myself. Not enough airplay, I guess.
June 25, 200916 yr I was wondering about the Ting Tings myself. Not enough airplay, I guess. The Ting Tings are recurrent now, that's why they don't appear in the Hot 100. In airplay they are at number 26 Here's the link Billboard Recurrent

June 25, 200916 yr Recurrent? That's just silly. I know... they would be in the top 30 now, if there wasn't this recurrent thing ( well, at least they're number 1 there)
June 25, 200916 yr What's the point of putting songs to the Recurrent Chart instead of the real chart? Edited June 25, 200916 yr by FunMaker11
June 25, 200916 yr What's the point of putting songs to the Recurrent Chart instead of the real chart? don't know either The rules for a song become recurrent on the Hot 100 are if the song is over #20 weeks on the chart and is below the 50 place. I think The Ting Tings were at 52 when they were removed <_<
June 25, 200916 yr Recurrent chart stops songs that spend their millionth week in the chart, to make way for fresher music. The UK is close to needing one...
June 25, 200916 yr Author Recurrent chart stops songs that spend their millionth week in the chart, to make way for fresher music. The UK is close to needing one... If the Ting Tings spent 20 weeks on the Hot 100 between 51-100, then there should be an exception allowing them to stay on the Hot 100 for more time, especially if they have enough chart points to be in the Top 50. Some songs take FOREVER to peak. All this is moot if they ever appeared in the Top 50
June 25, 200916 yr Author Recurrent chart stops songs that spend their millionth week in the chart, to make way for fresher music. The UK is close to needing one... Obviously I agree with you for certain songs, eg, Boom Boom Pow, if that ever leaves the Top 50, I agree it should be on the recurrent chart, otherwise it would be on the Hot 100 for years
June 25, 200916 yr Exactly. And with the Hot 100, airplay is involved, which makes the chart a lot less volatile. Songs can stop selling after some months, but airplay can keep going on and on and on, and therefore it keeps charting. A recurrent rule is needed
June 27, 200916 yr don't know either The rules for a song become recurrent on the Hot 100 are if the song is over #20 weeks on the chart and is below the 50 place. I think The Ting Tings were at 52 when they were removed <_< this chart rule is really stupid and unfair... the Ting Tings should've been in the top 30 at least by now... it's discrimination against british artists.....
