O good one Martin didn't think to check The Jam for the following week.

So

Michael Jackson 27

The Jam 13

Oasis 9

Elvis 7

Didn't the Beatles re-release some of their tracks in the late 70s, probably around 78-79 era

believe it or not a new record has been topped, the most hits by one artist, in one week.

originally it was by Ruby Murray in March 1955 with FIVE songs

W/E 18th March 1955

1 1 Tennessee Ernie Ford - Give me your word

2 2 Ruby Murray - Softly, softly

3 7 Nat King Cole - A blossom fell

4 9= Ray Burns - Mobile

5 12 Ruby Murray - Let me go lover

6 3 Rosemary Clooney - Mambo Italiano

7 11 Dean Martin - The naughty lady of Shady Lane

8 5 Dean Martin - Let me go lover

9 4 Dickie Valentine - Finger of suspicion

10 13 Teresa Brewer - Let me go lover

11 17= Dickie Valentine - A blossom fell

12 19 Johnny Brandon - Tomorrow

14 8 Ruby Murray - Happy days and lonely nights

15 6 Ruby Murray - Heartbeat

17 - Ruby Murray & Anne Warren - If anyone finds this, I love you

18 - Mantovani - Lonely ballerina

19 15 Bill Haley & His Comets - Shake rattle and roll

20 16 Ronnie Hilton - A blossom fell

Prodigy had 8 singles in the top 75 on 14 Apr 1996.

Manic Street Preachers had 6 singles between 41-55 on 7 Sep 1997.

George Michael featured on 5 top 40 singles in Dec 1985. (2 with Wham, 2 with Elton John and Band Aid).

Didn't the Beatles re-release some of their tracks in the late 70s, probably around 78-79 era
1976. On April 17, 1976 they had 6 songs in the top 50 (the size of the published chart back then) but in the bigger industry chart they had 23 singles - every official single they had released in fact - in the top 100.

ELVIS PRESLEY (W/E 26th October 1957)

He had 5 Top 20 Hits. 'Got A Lot O' Livin' To Do' was the 'B' Side of 'Party',

but it should still count. MJ has the advantage of being able to Chart every Song

that he ever released - as Downloads.

No.2 - PARTY

No.9 - TEDDY BEAR [Also called (LET ME BE YOUR) TEDDY BEAR]

No.16 - ALL SHOOK UP

No.20=GOT A LOT O’ LIVIN’ TO DO

No.20=PARALYSED

And Elvis, MJ, & John Lennon, have not had 4 simultaneous Top 10 Hits:,

FRANKIE LAINE (W/E 7th November 1953)

No.2 - ANSWER ME

No.3 - HEY JOE

No.5 - I BELIEVE

No.7 - WHERE THE WIND BLOWS

FRANKIE LAINE (W/E 14th November 1953)

No.1 - ANSWER ME

No.4 - HEY JOE

No.7 - I BELIEVE

No.9 - WHERE THE WIND BLOWS

JOHN LENNON (W/E 24th January 1981)

No.1 - IMAGINE

No.3 - WOMAN

No.9 - HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER)

No.15 - (JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER
