Sad as in sad because we've lost one of the greatest talents of the 20th century, or sad because it's a huge tacky OTT event geared towards publicity and money-making?

Either way, agreed.

Hence, it was a perfect tribute to the "Man In The Mirror".

Hmm. Sad because we have lost the greatest talent of the 20th century, and seeing that heartbreaking message from Paris Jackson, tacky? No, annoying because of the money being made from it, yes.

Aww there was a message from Paris? :( The cynical part of me says this was purely to tug at the heartstrings and somehow convert into further money, but the emotional part of me thinks that's really cute and sad :( I don't know why I haven't watched it tbh.

It definitely wasn't a planned thing. I think Janet was about to give a speech, but Paris decided to say something, but then broke down as she did it and then I think the Jackson Family decided enough was enough and ended the night. All the girls I know have cried over it. (Including my mum!).

It was an interesting watch. I missed bits of it, I didn't see Diana Ross/or Elizabeth Taylor, maybe they attended the private service. Some of the performances were pretty horrendous tbh, esp. that kid from Britains Got Talent  but it was a really nice well put together service in the end.

Dammit! For some reason I completely forgot it'd be televised :heehee: I'm sure somebody somewhere has taped it though so I'll catch it.

I read earlier that Elizabeth Taylor boycotted it because it was (in her words) a "whoopla".

They'll probably put it out on DVD or something, make more money from it..

al sharpton summed it up for me..

"I want his three children to know (there) wasn't nothing strange about your dad; it was strange what your daddy had to deal with."

i flet sorry for paris im sure it was a very hard emotioanl day for her and she wa sonly trying to do her part in his funeral

I felt like a saddo because I felt sad all night because of Paris crying  But then again I always cry when I see a cute little kid cry so yeah.. It was a money making event, yes but at the same time as a fan I was glad to be able to see at least something of a memorial!

I still just can't believe he's gone though...
