July 12, 200916 yr exactly if she made it to the top 50 then the babes would have done a lot better with it.
July 12, 200916 yr Her Name was Amanda Cosgrove ...she made it to the top 50 . The original is better by far Miranda Cosgrove. Her show is one of the most watched kids shows in the US rating wise. The song did very well considering the advertising. It got a video and nothing else.

July 13, 200916 yr Well, the Sugababes might try to crack America with their new album and new much more urban sound and we'll see how well they will do there.
July 13, 200916 yr I think they will finally do it with their new stuff - especially with Jay-Z behind them! I think they have the best chance of being big out there.
July 13, 200916 yr That girl who covered 'About You Now' was a NOBODY, the UK equivalent of her is probably Dani Harmer. I dare say Sophie should have had a go in 2002 with 'Murder On The Dancefloor', given it was a huge international smash she could have at least made a small impression there with it.
July 13, 200916 yr Author Huge international hit? It only charted in the UK and Ireland. i'm from Lebanon and 'The Promise' was number 1 for 3 weeks last year... in the European Charts it made number 8.... it was also a hit in Australia and Croatia too....

July 13, 200916 yr The Script would have done well, I think. Especially with Breakeven. But they don't really qualify as British - they are from Ireland ;)
July 13, 200916 yr Author What charts are these as I can't find any record for Europe or Australia. check out wiki...
July 14, 200916 yr I know i'm going to be alone on this but i think JLS have the potential to do well, with a good promotional team. Beat Again sounds like something Neyo/Akon would do, and they're nice boys, oh and good looking lol :)

July 14, 200916 yr In Europe 'The Promise' was 8/9 just because of the sales in UK & Ireland only like Pixie Lott entered at 5 this year. About Australia - it wasn't a hit there and Wiki is not reliable source very often. :heehee: If I'm not mistaken, GA released 'The Promise' in Germany but it didn't even make Top100 there. Girls Aloud are British only acts for a very long time now.

Girls Aloud are British only acts for a very long time now. Exactly. It didn't chart anywhere in Australia and the Europe position is due to the success in the UK and Ireland. Not an international hit by any stretch of the imagination.
July 14, 200916 yr The Promise has also been a minor hit in Bulgaria. But who cares about Bulgaria? :kink:
July 14, 200916 yr Well, they're the right colour to do well in the US... :w00t: The right colour? God some people are so racist. Are you saying on black people have success in America?
