I WONDERED if ANDY MURRAY had been to many gigs when he once told me SHAKIRA’s was the best he’d seen.

But I met the Colombian stunner and all that “hips not lying” business was nonsense — this pop goddess’s do.

She’s 32 but has the waist of an 18-year-old.

I nipped over to West London to hear her new album She Wolf, and Shakira told me: “I wish I’d known Andy Murray liked my gig. I would have invited him backstage.

“I love tennis. He’s a great player and actually quite handsome. I like his accent.”

The new tunes are nightclub dynamite and should guarantee more chart success.

And I’m not just saying that because she’s fit. SAM ENDICOTT is one of her co-writers and PHARRELL WILLIAMS produced a track.

EXCLUSIVE: SHAKIRA ALBUM IS A DANCE-RIOT

11th July 2009

By James Cabooter

COLOMBIAN hip-shaker Shakira plans to hit fans with a “big bottom end” on upcoming new album She-Wolf.

The babe has hooked up with N*E*R*D’s in- demand producer Pharrell Williams, 36, to unleash her most dance-orientated opus yet.

Playlist’s James Cabooter headed to a London studio to hear Shakira polishing off the record, which is due out on September 21.

She said: “It’s all about the bottom end.

"I really wanted to explore different dance beats and cultures on the new record.

"I did my research and looked into different kinds of rhythm.

“Plus Pharrell is a genius with beats so it came together really fast.”

The end result boasts some of Shakira’s hardest-hitting club anthems yet.

She dabbles with North African melodies on a track called One More, while another funky highlight Good Stuff features a cool eastern flavour.

Shak, 32, said: “I’m always trying new things.

"It’s important for me to keep interested.

“But the main thing was I wanted to be able to dance to this record.”

Since conquering Europe with her last album Oral Fixation Volumes 1 and 2, Shakira’s Colombian fans have accused her of abandoning them.

But the girl is keen to do all she can to keep everybody happy.

She said: “I’ve been travelling a lot so I’m not in Colombia as much.

"But I always try and do both Spanish and English language songs.”

The kick-ass title track is destined to become one of the biggest hits of the year

Shakira said: “It’s about a domestic girl who breaks free.

I think we all have the wolf in us waiting to come out.”

And with help from The Bravery’s Sam Endicott, 34, and singer-songwriter Amanda Ghost, She-Wolf is destined to be howling its way to No 1.

Sounds like it's gonna be great! I'm glad she's gone for an upbeat album. I love her ballads but I feel like it was about time she did album full of banging tunes.

wow, this sounds like a real storm of an album :cheer:
POP MUSIC VS RESTAURANT  oh this is something we got to hear, i'm sure everybody agrees we need more songs about restaurants, thanks goodness for shakira!! serve it up baby and dish it out!! i think she has done the right thing with the ie english album tackle the dance genre, fuse it, put her stamp on it and create something different. OF2 wasn't dancey at all. well timor and LDLI were a fan favourites, maybe she got the message and i'm glad she realised that she is really good in the dance genre. can't wait to hear more.

It sounds IMMENSE. You know this era is going to be huge; everybody loves She-Wolf, including tons of people who were never fans before, and all of the press from the listening party has been exceptionally positive.

Wow, sounds fantastic!

Shakira album 'to counter world recession'

Shakira has revealed that she hopes her new album will help counter the global recession.

The 'She Wolf' star claimed that the record has a "club" feel intended to help lift peoples' spirits.

"It's a very electronic album," she told MTV. "Dance-oriented. Club-oriented. I want people to have fun with it. Forget about the troubles. Forget about the crisis. Forget everything for a minute - at least while they listen to the music.

"I wanted a bassier album with harder sounds. I wanted the beats to be very solid. I wanted to build a solid foundation starting from the beats."

The singer, who recorded the album in the Bahamas with producers Pharrell Williams and Wyclef Jean, admitted that she felt anxious when starting the follow-up to 2005's Oral Fixation Vol. 2.

"You never know the final destination of a creative project," she added. "At first, you are standing in front of a white canvas, and that's the scariest thing on earth.

"You don't know if you're gonna do justice to the gifts that you have been given. Or if you are gonna be able to present the public something decent."

Shakira's new album is scheduled for release in October. The single 'She Wolf' is out in September.

I think those are just titles that have been quoted in various articles. I have a feeling the Toby Gad songs will be on the 2010 album because they're most likely to be ballads and all the news about the She Wolf album is that the English songs are mostly uptempos.
That IS the album cover apparently, which is a bit disappointing but hey ho.
i echo that, its juame laguna's photography  (he's her friend so she gives him work but not the greatest of photographers). its a bit muted and shaki's face washed out. we get the concept....the writings on the wall. but i prefer a better concept with more thought like DELL's cover with shakira's dirty hands (concept= she created it herself manual work, got her hands dirty etc) or LS with the tattoo (album is a part of her) or fixation baby theme as she said in interviews she was pregnant with twins and gave birth to these albums/songs. i hope it changes between now and october.
