she's also going to be on paulo grady, but i still feel the biggest problem for lack of sales is the album is too dear for just 9 english tracks, it can't compete with others that have more tracks at the same price. value for money is important

Eeek...only 200 000 worldwide. She Wolf is hardly tearing up the charts.

Listen to an unreleased track that you should be able to get when the US version is released:

I have to admit, i'm finding this whole era quite underhwleming.

She Wolf the song was wonderful. The album however, I think i'd rank it as my least favourite, bar Magia & Peligro :( Don't get me wrong, there are some great tracks on it (SW, DIA, MITT, Gypsy, MA) and the rest are above average, but idk, it just feels like much less aggressive, poetic, quirky.. less Shakira. I understand she's chasing sales and "feeling sexy", but it's quite obviously not what people want from her. Every song bar SW & Gypsy, imo, could easily be carried off by a lot of other female artists out there atm (MA in terms of music is practically Kelly Clarkson by numbers). The lyrics, whilst somewhat clever, just feel as if she hasn't put the effort into it as much as in the past (OF2 had wonderful lyrics). Did anybody ever think we'd see the day where she had to tag Lil' Wayne & Timbaland on a song to try and get interest? I also think there should have been more diversity (though maybe a problem with some of her past albums is that they've been too wide-reaching, though i'm not in the camp that thinks this).

I get the feeling she may be slightly critical of this album in the future. Maybe the label is trying to commercialise her more to get as much money out of her before her contract runs out? I don't expect DELL part II or a diverse-o-rama like OF2, but SW just feels very underwhelming to me, which isn't something I ever thought i'd say about a Shakira record. about 70% of the time I try sitting through the whole record, I end up switching to an earlier album. One of the strongest points of it for me is that it makes me appreciate her previous works even more

I have a feeling that the Spanish album will be much better. Roll on 2010..

agreed :( excellent album, but definitely Shakira's weakest for me, well from DELL (inclusive) onwards anyway...she's been on fire ever since

what we have here is an experiment an exploration by shakira into the electronic world. is it completely successful? no it isn't. i agree what is missing is warm, earthy, serious non electronic songs.

however she nailed it with SW the single its got an injection of passion and weirdness and that makes it uncommercial but is very shakira. i agree about GIU2M i can't believe seeing shakira homogonized like this with an average timbland production plus rent a rapper. anyone could have sung that track where as SW could only be her. Epic thought by making a safe radio friendly track that she would sell but they have to believe in some of the more shakira like tracks in the album like MITT. Epic's timing wth this era has been terrible and they deserve getting SW underperforming. this only confirms that shakira's judgement to leave them is a sound one. shakira won't be affected by this album not doing so well, she has the spanish album as back up plus a 10 year deal with live nation, she is going nowhere!!

the public are totally unsure about this album and its direction, so Epic need to keep pushing electronic tracks so the public get used to hearing shakira with this new sound. GIU2M and Gypsy are not good representations of the album. the spanish albums are always better, i hope its not so slick like SW.

SHE WOLF

I actually checked like three times in case it wasn't the final update, but it is. SO gutted for her

i don't know why but i'm not surprised and not bothered and not upset. this album is a goodbye present to Epic. those meddling fools deserve low profits!! goodbye fukkers
Epic have always done a good job for her. Her promotion this time around has been mental, she's been everywhere. All I can say is that they should've released it when She Wolf was at its peak back in October. GIUTM simply wasn't worth waiting for and I think it lost her sales.

I've stopped caring about this era now. A flop is a flop and all you can do is sit back and enjoy the music.

The only songs I like are She Wolf, Long Time and Spy. I think Spy could and should be a future single.

The only part of GIU2M that I like is the beat with Wayne's lyric and when Shakira is saying "Tim, Are you on it? Tim, Are you on it?" Other than that, not into the song. And why would they make Shakira do moves like she is in a black sorority? It just looked weird with her doing it.

its a shame its a good album with great reviews but the US public aren't giving this a try n buy. GIU2M was a huge mistake to release, i think people are staying away after hearing that song and wondering if the rest of the album is like that. such a shame Epic didn't go with one of her quirky tracks instead. at the end of the day its about the fans, we know its good, its inventive, distinctive and typical shakira bonkers personality. the unbiased music critics see its worth and back us up so its all good musically, not a flop in that sense she should be proud of it.

yeah long time is imo good. but it divides fans in a big way, many hate it with a passion. i've been getting into spy recently especially the production and verses but it has to be played loud.

who else loves the first 20 seconds of Mon Amour?? clap along with the clapping

Not sure what price the album is selling at now the sales are on, not even sure if the album has been reduched but in the UK this week the album climbs 11 places to #76.
I think it's £5 on amazon, and £6.99 in HMV. Glad it's hanging around, albeit not very high. SHould hopefully go gold pretty soon, I think it's on 86K or thereabouts
Hopefully gypsy can push the sales of the album aswell, it needs a good push, i cant see the album selling 200,000 overall in the UK going on its trend so far as no other single will be anywhere near as big as she wolf was. Also her x factor apperance was a great promotion and that didnt bump album sales any where near what i thought it would have
