Here is my review of last night.......and it isn't good! I must say I have never been so disappointed of seeing an artist in concert. I was extremely excited about seeing Leona only to be let down. She blew me away with Happy, FTEISYF, Homeless and Bleeding Love. Every other song performed was average at best. For someone who has such raw talent, she doesn't use her voice much. I know ppl are saying she is preserving her voice but she hardly sang at all. I got you, better in time and run were pathetic but surprisingly the biggest joke of the night was outta my head. The rearrangements og BIT and FM were brilliant but she left the singing to ehr backing singers and never even attempted the chorus or big notes on most songs. £45 a ticket was not justified and as said I have never been so disappointed. The show put on was brilliant and she looked great but apart from the four mentioned, singing was appalling. I am so so so gutted. Her "dancing" was effortless when she did it. Sorry to be so negative but it was such a let down imo. The folk behind and in front of me said the same thing. Shame :(

^ It's a shame you felt that but you're in a tiny minority there. She sings loads throughout so I don't know how you can say she doesn't. You can't go to a concert and expect every single lyric sung and every note hit like the studio versions. There will always be changes and in routines like I Got You, it is actually impossible to hit every note when she's swinging around. For songs like Better In Time and Forgive Me, that was more about audience participation and creating a vibe and atmosphere. But even saying that, she still sings a lot when performing them.

More great reviews still coming all the time. This one is from The Herald:

A Diva is Unveiled

Leona Lewis, SECC, Glasgow, Shona Craven **** (4 stars)

Will there be anything in pop this year to match the sight of Leona Lewis sprawled, Titania-style, in a tree above dancers wearing antlers and unicorn heads, purring into a sparkle-encrusted microphone?

"Enchanted forest" is just one of many themes in the 2006 X Factor-winner's fairly remarkable debut tour.

Everything but the kitchen sink has been thrown at this show, including butterfly dancers, a giant swan and an ivy-covered piano.

The highlights didn't involve any of those trimmings, though. A disamingly outstanding rendition of Happy paved the way for I Got You, performed in mid-air from a twirling swing, and TFTEISYF, every bit as powerful as it was four years ago.

From a shy young woman who seldom danced during her talent show experience, Lewis has evolved into a confident diva more than capable of holding her own during Outta My Head, and then keeping the crowd on their feet with a Eurythmics cover.

The challenge to the reigning pop princess extended in the encore, for which she performed Bleeding Love in a showgirl-style costume that confirmed her transformation into a poised, polished headliner. To paraphrase one of her songs, she can only get better with time. Her second Glasgow concert is tomorrow night.

I may be in a minority but still its my opinion. As i said, the show was spectacular buut her vocals were poor, she didnt even try imo.

That's fair enough but I think a lot of reviewers and members of the public would have picked up on that if it really was the case. Not one professional review has stated her vocals were poor or that she "didn't even try", and I haven't seen that stated anywhere online. Clearly it wasn't an issue for the vast majority which is what matters. :)

I'm quite shocked to read that review of Sunday's show at Glasgow, by the poster above. I was there last night, and she exceeded all my expectations.

I had been posting on Popjustice about how I think her voice has weakened considerably recently, and how she isn't up to far from the videos I had seen of the tour, but I have to take it all back. She is without doubt, the best female pop singer in the world right now. She hit notes that I didn't even know were possible, and some of her falsetto runs made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

She was obviously enjoying herself and she got right into the show. She was great with the crowd and her movement and dancing was excellent.

I just cant believe how strong her voice was. I new she was good but I caught myself sitting open mouthed, in utter awe, at several points. 5 stars indeed!

Seeing her tonight, woop woop! seems like everyone on here has already been, setting off in an hour or two :D

Just got home and she was amazing, one of my best ever concerts (even though I didn't have the best seats)

I've got to say I was expecting to be a little let down from what people were saying about her not singing as much, but she sounded AMAZING to me and sang most of the songs, alot more than some artists do anyways, also she was a much much better performer than ever!

She sound extra amazing on 'Can't Breathe' there was a note in there which was seriously epic it blew me away

Run, Bleeding Love, Homeless and First Time Ever I Saw Your Face were all also brilliantly sang.

Outta My Head, Take A Bow, Forgive Me and Sweet Dreams were brilliant performances, everyone was on their feet!

Also loved the stage and dancers, and I loved her on the swing on I Got You.

Can't wait for a DVD

Oh and I also Loved the video song especially 'They Don't Care About Us' I really need a studio version (or at least really HQ version from the concert) of it. she needs more fast songs on the next album to show people that she not only can perform but is a great performer!

THIS!!!!

As a massive MJ fan, hearing and seeing Leona doing this amazing mix had me seriously wertting my pants

I was at the first Belfast concert and she blew me and my friends away. I cant be arsed doing a full review, but highlights were They Dont Care About Us/Outta My Head, First Time Ever I saw Your Face (SOOO much power in her voice!!! she got a standing ovation), Take a Bow and Homeless (LOVED the rocky arrangements for both of these....homeless was also really vocally strong). Also, her choice of covers were amazing, the acoustic Cry me a River was especially good! I also really loved Happy cos i really love that song, and Brave worked so well as the opening track.

As for the tour itself....Leona looked AMAZING! She is looking so toned and slim, obviously from all the touring and exercise! The props and set pieces all looked amazing. For example, the I Got You "swings" were really well done! She can no longer be seen as some "boring singer who just stands there". She put on a show and im so proud of her :)

Do you know, when they will release it on DVD?

Nicola (her agent) confirmed at one of the final concerts that it's looking for a Christmas release. :)

Music Week confirms the tour DVD + 10-track CD is being released November 29th. :w00t:
YaY I'll be getting this :)
Excited about the DVD, but there is no news on whether it's a live CD or just a collection of recorded songs. Hopefully we get White Swan, Care About Us and Sweet Dreams. That would be amazing.
