July 21, 200916 yr The battle between I'm Not Alone and Jai Ho! is interesting. Calvin has closed right up in the last couple of weeks and looked certain to overtake, but suddenly the Now 43 download of Jai Ho! is doing surprisingly well and it's much harder to call.
July 22, 200916 yr Sales Estimates If you’ve ever wondered how I do my YTD sales estimates, here’s a brief explanation – though not one for the faint-hearted! I have two main spreadsheets – one that lists weekly chart positions for each artist/title, and another that lists actual/estimated sales each week for each position from 1-200. Another page on the chart-positions spreadsheet links the two together – looking up the sales figure that corresponds to the title’s position on each week it charts. It then totals up those figures to produce a YTD figure for each title, which can then be sorted into order. There’s also an adjustment column to add sales for weeks the title missed the T200. All this info is then pulled into a weekly summary spreadsheet linked to the sales one, so that any necessary current or prior week adjustments are pulled through automatically. A final spreadsheet is linked to the summary that allows me to check retroactive adjustments don’t change prior week T75 positions. Phew!
July 22, 200916 yr Kings of leon holding very well considering it was released last year. This is largely due to the fact promo was popping up every couple of weeks at the start of the year - the BRITs, the song being used on Kilimajaro show etc. so the song just kept bouncing around thye top ten, at one point getting very very close to being #1. Plus it is one of those songs along with SOF that seems to have perpetual sales, as it just never stops being there. US has been absent from the top 75 for exactly one week this year, and Sex On Fire for two. And why were they missing? Michael Jackson. :P

Is Madcon - Beggin 6th in this list? Rings a bell. Also, amazing Snow Patrol make the top 5 for non-top-40 without even reaching top 75. Any info on the biggest selling non-top-100s? I could theoretically calculate a list at any cut-off point within the T200, but the further down you go, the more songs you run into that haven't been continuously T200, so are much harder to estimate.

July 25, 200915 yr Look at Agnes nearing the top 20 for the year though I think by years end it will probably pushed back into the 20's or 30's with all the other songs that have yet to be released this year
