Posted August 2, 200915 yr Thought this might be a bit of fun. All you have to do is predict the top 2 of each of the following divisions. Whichever position the team finishes in, that's how many points you get. The person with the least points wins. If you don't know much about a league, just have a guess! For example: Last season, if you'd predicted Man Utd and Liverpool to finish as the top 2 of the Premiership you'd have scored 3 points, as they finished in 1st and 2nd. If you'd predicted Chelsea and Arsenal, you'd have got 7 points as they were 3rd and 4th. August 3, 200915 yr I don't get why peopel are rating Arsenal so high at the moment? Their squad could barely challange for Top 6 at the moment! If they get an injury to either of their first choice CBs they're screwed. If Viera comes back as well then, personally for me it just shows that Wenger is seriously scared of missing the Top 4...
Well the idea of Eduardo, Van Persie, Arshavin, Fabregas and Walcott is quite scary if they're all fit! Vermaelen and Gallas looks like quite a good partnership too! Plus it might be Jack Wilshere's year too! The small squad and the lack of a defensive mind in the midfielder are my slight concerns. Though anyway part of me is just hoping it's not just Man United and Chelsea with Liverpool snooping around like it has been for the last few years again! If it didn't look like Alonso was going it was would have been Liverpool > Man United for me. Imo he was your best player last season and as much as Gerrard behind Torres is probably the best striking option in the entire world right now I don't think it will be enough! I think (and hope :P ) that last season was your biggest opportunity to win it!

I think (and hope :P ) that last season was your biggest opportunity to win it! But Vermaelen might not even adjust to the Premier League. He looks good I agree, but CB is a position where Arsenal are very weak imo. An injury to Gallas and they're f***ed, as I don't think Senderos has improved at all whilst he was on loan. I think whilst a lot of their young players could be potentially good, some of them, well, I don't really rate and won't do so until they prove they're not hyped up just because they play for Arsenal and are English. Alonso would be a big loss. But as time goes by I am more and more sure he'll be staying. Last year he was our best player. But Gerrard and Torres were both injured for long amounts of time, I dare say both of them would have been considered Liverpool's best player/s last season had they been fit. The Alonso-Mascherano partnership is not the best imo either. He is a very good and influential player for us but I am sure someone like Hamsik, Aqualini or De Rossi could just be as influential.
