Bono – Most Famous Mullets

http://i47.tinypic.com/ive3jb.jpg

Though he’s been known more in the last two decades for his trademark “Fly” sunglasses, the most distinct look of Bono‘s early days was his ’80s mullet. Much like the rockers of his day, his hair was rather poofy up front, but part of what made the U2 singer’s “Sho-Long” distinctive was his ability to grow out his hair in back and have it curl back toward his neck and shoulders.

In later years, Bono would apologize for the unfortunate hairstyle, but we say, Bono, take some pride, in the name of love, of that look. It worked for you at the time.

BONO stunned housemates on the African version of Big Brother – when he appeared on video screen to address them.

The legendary rocker was beamed to the house live from Dublin, which contains housemates from 14 different African nations.

“This is your Irish rock star fan, Bono. You are my big brothers and little sisters”, he said.

The U2 front man spoke to the housemates about the garden which they have to cultivate over the course of the series, as part of the new campaign being run by his ONE charity.

“I hear you’re growing and farming the future, and that the fruit is the hope and change that we’re all hungry for”, he told them.

The star finished up by telling the stunned housemates: “Big love, big respect from Dublin Ireland and everyone in the ONE campaign”.

The housemates were elated by the appearance of the Irish rocker. One said: “I feel like I’m a star”. While another added: “This is so surreal, I cannot believe it”.

The African version of big brother is one of the most popular shows on the continent, attracting participants from 14 different countries and being broadcast in 47 countries.

Will.i.am was nervous to work with U2

Aug 06, 2012 - Bang Showbiz

Will.i.am was “intimidated” by U2. The Black Eyed Peas star has produced a whole host of high-profile artistes’ work but was incredibly nervous about being in the studio with the One hitmakers.

He said, “I recorded for a month with U2. Even though I worked with Michael Jackson, their U2-ness intimidated me. I didn’t know how to suggest a song from scratch. So I co-produced I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight and kept I Got A Feeling for us.”

The My Humps hitmaker also spoke of an astonishing encounter with a fan who proved she knew his lyrics better than him.

He explained to NME magazine, “In Japan and this girl came up and says, ‘I reckon in Boom Boom Pow you say ‘boom,’ 101 times. I was like, ‘Yeah, right’, but said, ‘Thank you so much for listening to the song.’ I got back on the train, counted my booms and she was right. We counted all the booms.”

Bono, No, No: U2’s singer ‘repeatedly’ turns down Cowell jobs

By JENNIFER O’BRIEN Showbiz Editor

POP king Bono has repeatedly turned down offers to appear as a reality TV judge, the Irish Sun can reveal.

The U2 frontman is in hot demand by producers on shows including US X Factor and American Idol.

And although the idea has been pitched to him on numerous occasions, Bono isn’t ready to get on his judging boots for show boss Simon Cowell.

An insider revealed: “Bono is one of the top choices each year when shake-ups on these shows come around.

“He has repeatedly shrugged off talk of appearing as a judge as he hasn’t the time and it’s not really up his street at the moment.

“As far as producers are concerned, who better in the world to judge you than someone considered a kind of God of the music world?”

Just last week, American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, 43, admitted that she’d love to see the Dubliner, 52, in the hot seat on the massive US series.

After hinting last week that she could be about to depart the show, Lopez chose Bono as one of the people she would like to take her place.

The insider added: “Bono is a very busy man, and it’s unlikely he would appear on shows like this in the future.”

After announcing her decision to leave American Idol, Lopez suggested Bono would be the perfect replacement.

She said: “I think big. I think Bono, or Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger.” Lopez said her decision to quit was influenced by Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler’s departure.

People like Lopez are full of self importance  , why would Bono want to go on American Idol or any of those c**p shows

Camila Alves at the beach in Ibiza on Sunday.

The mom-to-be, who expects her third child this Fall, is on vacation with her husband Matthew McConaughey. The pair have been spotted visiting with U2′s Bono and his wife on their yacht.

Even though this is her third pregnancy Camila recently revealed that this time around hasn’t been easy sailing.

“I guess every pregnancy is different and this one is just… it’s been tough,” she told Life & Style.

“Thank God I’m not throwing up a lot, but food isn’t really appealing right now.”

Camila told Access Hollywood that their third baby was just ready to join the family.

“I was trying to push back as much as I could, but it was time,” she said. “This baby was ready to come. The main thing to me is to make sure our home is peaceful, that it’s healthy and that the kids are good.”

Bono's firm loses €513m as Facebook shares fall further

Friday August 17 2012

A COMPANY backed by U2 singer Bono has lost over €513m as shares in the Facebook social network continue on their downward spiral.

Elevation Partners, the fund that includes Bono on its list of investors, has dropped from €1.09bn to €578m since the Facebook flotation just three months ago.

Investors now fear a further drop in the shares which hit a record low overnight, falling from e36 at the time of the flotation to e15 yesterday.

The euphoria surrounding the flotation has proven short-lived. At the time the deal made Facebook's founder, 28-year-old Mark Zuckerberg, the 23rd richest man on the planet with a fortune valued at €15bn.

That has now dropped to almost half that value, knocking him off the list of the world's top 10 wealthiest technology entrepreneurs as calculated by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index this month.

Investors who had been blocked from selling shares until now are faced with a decision whether to sell at the current price or hold on and hope for the price to turn around.

For company insiders the share drop has been painful.

Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of the company, has seen her e1.3bn windfall drop to e693m. And she now has to sit tight as the shares will only pay out if she stays with the company.

Peter Thiel, the PayPal co-founder who backed Facebook in its infancy, has already converted all his shares in recent days to a form that can easily be sold despite the fact that their value has dropped from over e800m to a current e453m.

Eduardo Saverin, who co-founded the company, had been named the eighth richest person in Singapore but his wealth has almost halved since May, down from e3.4bn to e1.7bn.

The flotation has been a catastrophe since day one when a computer error on the first day of trading left people trying to buy the shares in the dark for more than two hours.

Several investors suffered losses because of the glitch and Nasdaq, the stock exchange where Facebook is traded, had to set aside tens of millions of dollars to compensate furious traders.

Investors holding 271 million shares were free to sell them for the first time yesterday. Under a 90-day rule to stop insider trading, they had to hold the shares up until then.

U2's Bono and wife Ali bonded with Matthew McConaughey in Ibiza

http://i48.tinypic.com/18c676.jpg

Bono and his wife Ali usually spend their summer vacays in the south of France, but this year they've also added Ibiza to their itinerary. While there they met up with Matthew McConaughey and his pregnant wife Camila, as you can see from our picture, with Bono taking plenty of protection from the scorching sun with his hat and black shirt.

Here's no surprise - Simon Cowell would love to have Bono appear on his reality singing competition The X Factor. Bosses at American Idol and all the other shows feel the same.

"Bono is one of the top choices each year when shake-ups on these shows come around. He has repeatedly shrugged off talk of appearing as a judge as he hasn't the time and it's not really up his street at the moment," a source told The Irish Sun.

Careful, you might put the sun out of business! U2's Bono wears bright yellow jeans while holidaying in St Tropez

It may be a trend that is fast catching on with women, but U2's Bono cannot pull off bright coloured jeans.

The 52-year-old singer was spotted heading to Club 55 in St Tropez today wearing a loud yellow pair that certainly stood out.

As the Irish star strolled along in the sunshine, he didn't seem embarrassed at all about his garish clothing and instead had a huge grin on his face.

Brave look:

Bono teamed the canary yellow attire with chunky brown sandals and a light coloured shirt as he made his way to the well-known venue.

He completed his look with a pair of sunglasses and a white and black summer hat while waving at onlookers.

The singer was joined by his U2 band mate, The Edge, who thankfully had not opted to wear bright jeans.

Instead, the guitarist tried to blend in with the public by choosing to wear dark jeans and a white printed T-shirt.

As he walked behind Bono, the 51-year-old wore a black baseball cap and sunglasses and kept his head down
