November 17, 200915 yr Author 'Wow'. i know mate. he is right up there with Rick Rubin when it comes to producing.
November 17, 200915 yr Author i know. ok you can stop the less-than-3-word-posts now or else they'll be deleted innit, unless you put something productive about how Alan Moulder is a producing God.
November 20, 200915 yr Author Them Crooked Vultures have confirmed that they are to start work on their second album. Despite their self-titled debut having only been released earlier this month, the three-piece say they are already thinking about its follow-up. "I felt we've only just started to pick up steam. Why would we want to stop now?" singer Josh Homme told The Sun, while bassist John Paul Jones agreed. "We all know we have so much more in us yet," he said. Dave Grohl said that "when we make our second record, it's going to be even more powerful than this one". Meanwhile, Homme has said he doesn't like the band being labelled a 'supergroup'. "It's not that I hate that term," he said. "I just don't shave with it, I don't eat with it and it doesn't mean anything to me."
November 21, 200915 yr Author live at Reading Festival. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00p1knj I was there, I put this high upon my top performances seen, mainly cos it was a surprise set (although i worked it out), and also, because they were f***ing good, but some of the crowd shots are making me cringe, so many people there blatantly didnt even know who Josh Homme was, where as I was there, 3 rows from the front in (one of) my Queens of the Stone Age t-shirts, get almost suffocating to death by the 1000 Dave Grohl lunatics who decided to charge forward as soon as they see me. now I have been squashed at many gigs, but I literally couldnt breathe, I thought I might of passed out (not only from seeing Sir Homme on stage but also the fact no air was going through my lungs). I couldnt even move back into a calmer part of the crowd, just generally couldnt move at all, was insane. wouldnt be surprised if someone was crushed to death in that (horrible thought). after a few (8 minute) songs I managed to move back into a pretty brutal mosh pit, but I quite enjoy those, at least i can f***ing breathe in them. in conclusion, why must people surge forward in crowds? pits are so much better. I was only intending on posting that link in this post as well :/ also, that video makes me want to hurt edith bowman.
November 26, 200915 yr OK so I've been listening to this quite a lot recently and I've come to the conclusion that it's actually f***ing amazing. Not a bad song on the album.
November 26, 200915 yr Author OK so I've been listening to this quite a lot recently and I've come to the conclusion that it's actually f***ing amazing. Not a bad song on the album. I basically came to that conclusion before even hearing it cos im so not biased when it comes to Josh Homme I listened to it like 20 times in the week I got it, i'm downloading it in FLAC now, it's gonna be amazing.
December 3, 200915 yr Author The TCV twitter just posted a picture of a 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' wristband. So yeah, I think i'll be watching it tomorrow night.
December 4, 200915 yr Author Nice performance on Jonathan Ross, had a good little chat with him before, Dave told the story of the first time playing on a Jonathan Ross show, Nirvana in like 91, they were meant to play Smells Like Teen Spirit but 2 minutes before decided to play Terriorial Pissings, which is about 2 minutes shorter, then they smashed the gear and pegged it. Something I love avout Nirvana. DC3YDuds5Ac
December 5, 200915 yr Author Epic performance, man I wish I was seeing them live :( yeah I well regret getting tickets to Hammersmith, when I saw the live I had only heard bad qulaity bootlegs, but was blown away, They played great on Ross, but then again what can you expect from 3 majorly talented musicians. December 17, 200915 yr Great band and album. Little too much Homme singing where I do think they could have shared teh vocals, but that's just me. Homme always comes across as an arrogant f**kstain, but can't argue that the guy is talented. And Grohl is as close as it looks like we're going to get to Bonham behind the skins.
January 18, 201015 yr Author apparently Paul McCartney was gonna be the bassist, but Grohl had already asked JPJ. would be a mega different sound.
January 18, 201015 yr Author i'm a big fan of Paul, but listening to TCV, JPJ has a massive influence over the album, it would not be the same at all, not sure if Grohl+Homme+McCartney could make something as good, or any good? it would be interesting to hear McCartney and Homme work together though.
